This was a well-run tour with expert knowledgeable and friendly tour leaders. We needed some assistance getting up into Cortona, and our tour leader arranged a taxi to take us from the bus to the meeting point up in town. Our driver was very good and competent and had water bottles for sale during the trip, which was greatly appreciated.
This tour was incredible. I saw so much of what I wanted to see in these two historic hilltop towns. I would recommend anyone to try viator.com whenever travelling abroad.
Always wanted to se assissi now I want to go back again it was so beautiful!
Awesome! Everything We expected and our local guide was passionate about the history of Assisi. Enough free time if you don't eat at a sit down restaurant. The little church inside the larger church was amazing. We bought some wine to take home from a local shop and the shop owner invited us to her home for dinner. Cortona was also very pleasant. Go to the jewelry store that the guide offers as a suggestion. The history of the building was amazing.
The weather was perfect. The ride through Tuscany was beautiful. Cortona is a lovely old town and Assisi is just beautiful. There were no crowds. Our guide on the bus was informative and good-humored. Our guide in Assisi also knew his stuff and made it very interesting. This was a day well spent.
I have been to Assisi twice before but this trip showed me much more than other trips.
I do have trouble walking and it should be made clear that both of these places are at the top of high hills with cobble stone roads on the way up. It is worth the climb but it is easier if you know before hand about the climb.
The trip to Assisi and Cortona was really full of history. Our guide in Assisi provided so much detail as we toured the churches and walked along the quaint streets. Our stop in Cortona was free time to either visit a local business that makes women's shoes and jewelry or there were museums to see.
Absolutely fantastic! There were only six of us that day so it was very relaxed and the guide could pay attention to all of us. One thing though, the meeting place described on the confirmation was very confusing. We ended up waiting outside Santa Maria Novella train station but actually the tour guide was across the street in front of Burger King. Maybe drop the whole "outside of Santa Maria Novella station" from the description of the meeting place and just say in front of Burger King.
This day trip is beautiful. Great tour guide. Nice bus and great history. Cortona was a nice surprise. Beautiful.
Great trip to two marvelous towns. Each had its own character and our guide was helpful in pointing out highlights.
If you are a fan of Saint Francis, then this is your tour!
Cortona is a great town with great views. The tour takes you to a local jeweler. We were very impressed with their merchandise. It was reasonably priced and well made. We then toured the village for awhile and headed back to Florence.
Tour guides were good.
This was a great tour but a bit rushed. The guide was very informative and Assisi is beautiful and quaint. I missed Cortona because it was raining when we arrived but otherwise it was a lovely day.
Enjoyed day trip to Assisi and Cortona very much just wish there was more time for shopping!
We really enjoyed our tour with Francesca. We had a nice combination of information and exploration time. Visiting these ancient places is awe inspiring. I would highly recommend this tour.
Antione was a outstanding tour guide...I wish we had more time in Cortona, the short stay makes me want to return for a longer visit. The guide is Assisi was just ok...this was my second trip to Assisi I wanted more on Francis's life in Assisi.
Wish the time in Assisi was longer and no trip to Cortona. Our guide in Assisi was amazing and very knowledgeable.
Enjoyed this tour as you get to see Tuscany's beauty. Assisi was a very quaint town but know in advance, there is much uphill walking on this trip. Tour leader and tour guide both excellent. Cortona was unique and again, a lot of uphill walking is involved. Worth the day to see these while in Italy.
This tour was good but it could be better. Given the amount of time driving to Cortona and Assisi, this tour was rushed given the 5 hours we spent on the road. I wish we spent more time in Cortona. The highlight has to be the trip to Assisi.
I enjoyed the trip, but wished I had been given a little more time in each city. There was only a guided tour in Assisi, and even that was a little short. Overall, it was worth going, but I wasn't wowed.
