The weather was perfect. The ride through Tuscany was beautiful. Cortona is a lovely old town and Assisi is just beautiful. There were no crowds. Our guide on the bus was informative and good-humored. Our guide in Assisi also knew his stuff and made it very interesting. This was a day well spent.
I have been to Assisi twice before but this trip showed me much more than other trips.
I do have trouble walking and it should be made clear that both of these places are at the top of high hills with cobble stone roads on the way up. It is worth the climb but it is easier if you know before hand about the climb.
The trip to Assisi and Cortona was really full of history. Our guide in Assisi provided so much detail as we toured the churches and walked along the quaint streets. Our stop in Cortona was free time to either visit a local business that makes women's shoes and jewelry or there were museums to see.
Absolutely fantastic! There were only six of us that day so it was very relaxed and the guide could pay attention to all of us. One thing though, the meeting place described on the confirmation was very confusing. We ended up waiting outside Santa Maria Novella train station but actually the tour guide was across the street in front of Burger King. Maybe drop the whole "outside of Santa Maria Novella station" from the description of the meeting place and just say in front of Burger King.
This day trip is beautiful. Great tour guide. Nice bus and great history. Cortona was a nice surprise. Beautiful.
Great trip to two marvelous towns. Each had its own character and our guide was helpful in pointing out highlights.
Enjoyed this tour as you get to see Tuscany's beauty. Assisi was a very quaint town but know in advance, there is much uphill walking on this trip. Tour leader and tour guide both excellent. Cortona was unique and again, a lot of uphill walking is involved. Worth the day to see these while in Italy.
I enjoyed the trip, but wished I had been given a little more time in each city. There was only a guided tour in Assisi, and even that was a little short. Overall, it was worth going, but I wasn't wowed.
I had signed up for this trip because I wanted to go to Cortona and had to do Assisi in order to get there. I had no idea that the majority of the day would be in Assisi, and only 1 hr dedicated to Cortona. So that was a bit of a disappointment to me. The timeline was not spelled out in the information onlin. Also, it was much farther driving than I thought, I guess I should have investigated that part more carefully. Unfortunately it poured rain while in Cortona so we had literally about 10 min there. So for me, while Assisi was interesting, the trip did not meet my expectations because Cortona was a total bust. And I thought the guide we had was only mediocre.
Informative trip. Assisi and Cortona are not easy to reach on our own so we are very appreciative of the bus with an interesting driver. Cortona was very surprising with a medieval market place while we were there!
The viator description was completely misleading and needs to be changed. It talked of a free afternoon in cortona and clearly suggested we would have about three hours to visit cortona. Instead we had only one hour and the tour guide said it was always just one hour. Tour guide added no value.
