Do this tour! Bus ride to the vineyard isn't too long and the coach bus makes it an easy jaunt. You get a nice overview of the vineyard and winemaking process. However, it is by no means an in-depth tour of the vineyard. This tour really is a lot more about the wine tasting than it is about learning about the vineyard or winemaking. That being said, the wine tasting was awesome, as was the food! We're talking bottles on the table and giant plates full of really good snacks, all paired perfectly by the lovely guide/employee of the vineyard! By the time the bus leaves the vineyard, you will be full, you will be tipsy and you will have made some great new friends. The majority of the group on our tour decided to forego any exploration of the capital town of the Chianti region that they bring you to after the vineyard, instead preferring to visit the local wine shop for more wine tasting. This was quite enjoyable and recommended, unless you're a big history buff, to whom I might recommend wandering the town instead. We met so many awesome people on this tour, some of whom we spent the rest of the night eating dinner and gelato and drinking with. It really was one of the utmost highlights of our time in Florence and I am so glad we chose to do this tour!
AMAZING TOUR! Amazing scenery, just simply awesome! Don't even think twice, just book it you will not regret it!
It is always good to be back here in Chianti.
I took this tour twice and I still love it and would go for a third time
You should not miss this one at all.
One of the highlights of the trip. Fun, informative--a perfect half day excursion out of Florence.
This was an awesome tour. We did this towards the end of our honeymoon stay in Florence and it was worth every penny (Euro, I should say). The wine was great, the trip was scenic and fabulous and the people on the tour were very pleasant.
This was a great tour! The tour guide was awesome, nice and informative and the lady that gave us the tour at the castle was great. The wine was delicious and the castle was beautiful - everything you could imagine for a Tuscan wine tour!
Another really nice informative guide, Elena! One of the highlights of our trip. Everything was perfect. We had more wine and more food than we expected. We brought home a bottle of the red, the olive oil and the chile jam, all made there. Beautiful land!
This trip was perfect! We got onto a chartered bus and headed east of Florence into the Tuscan countryside. Our tour guide was great. She spoke great english, and had lots of energy. We stopped at a small town in the hills to take pictures and see an old church. Then, we continued to the vineyard, which was a castle! We received a great tour of the castle and wine cellar. Then we had a great tasting of three different wines with some traditional Italian snacks. Overall, it was a great time! If I was to change anything, I would have loved to learn/see more of the actual vineyards.
This was a fabulous tour if you want to visit Italy's countryside but don't have enough time to really venture out there. The bus stop was easy to find and our tour guide did a great job at giving us some history along the way! It was only about a 40 minute bus ride and the scenery along the way was gorgeous. The castle where the tour is was fantastic! Our guide there was very energetic and we learned a lot. On top of that, the wine was fantastic! During the tasting, they give you samples of authentic food to try a long with the wine. We just loved it (and went home with a few bottles)! The stop in Greve is the icing on the cake. It's a quaint little town that really gives you the feel of Tuscany! I highly recommend this tour. We were not disappointed!
We had a fantastic time on this tour. I was travelling with my family in Florence (1 grandmother, 4 adults, 3 kids ages 3, 10 and 12) and I had never seen the Tuscan countryside so this was something I really wanted to do. I was hesitant because of the kids, but since this was a 1/2 day tour, I thought that would be all right. Even though this wasn't what you would consider a "kids" activity, I do think it has value for them from a learning perspective (although we never would have considered it if the kids weren't generally very polite and well behaved - we didn't want to ruin anyone else's tour). Everyone in our group loved it, from the toddler to the grandma - the bus ride through the countryside was lovely (although winding, so some people felt a little sick on arrival) and the tour guide gave us a lot of history as we drove. Then, we got a nice tour of the winery including the cellars, which was also informative and interesting. The tasting was probably the longest part of the program - we had 4 different wines (kids got fruit juice) and they also gave us some bread/spread and cheese on a plate to accompany the wine. The winery was beautiful, with gorgeous gardens (and 2 peacocks) and nice views of the countryside. Then we stopped in Greve, which was nice, but it was a Sunday so there were not as many establishments open for shopping. The kids liked seeing some local children play soccer in the square, though, and many residents were out enjoying the nice weather. We were back a little earlier than expected in Florence, and had no problems making our reservations for dinner that night.
This tour was relaxing and enjoyable. It was just what we needed after four days of hectic sightseeing. The wines were wonderful and the setting was beautiful. Thanks.
Stellar. When you are told the bus driver knows what he is doing, believe them. The drive from Florence to the castle was between 40 minutes and an hour (traffic dependent). The castle was fascinating but the views of the vineyards from the castle were even more breathtaking.
The snacks and the wine were very good with an option to purchase wines. The atmosphere was nice and the staff knowledgeable, friendly, and funny.
The wine tour was fabulous! The guide at the castle was knowledgeable and entertaining. The company at the wine tasting was fun and the Chanti and snacks were excellent ! I would recommend this wine tour .
It was a great experience. We enjoyed the tour. It was a great getaway to the Tuscan country side.
I would definitely recommend this tour. Very beautiful scenery and very informative. The wine tasting was great and came with a good amount of food. The stop in Greve was also very nice as you could do some souvenir shopping at places that were definitely cheaper than the shops in Florence.
The tour to the castle was wonderful! Our guide was very friendly and did a great job. I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Viator!
It was wonderful!!! The castle was amazing where the owners live and make the wine. The tour guides did an excellent job. I also enjoyed the stop for Saint Bridgitta. It was a great afternoon.
This wine tour was one of our family's favorite days. Gotta love their passion for wine and olive oil, the guide on the tour could not have been more enthusiastic, the guide on the bus trip was really pleasant and accommodating, the stop at the village was a nice time. Nice day.
We loved everything about this tour! Our guide was excellent. The bus ride was beautiful! The wine and snacks were perfect. We chose this tour as it was a half day and we did not have much time in Florence.
The tour to chianti was totally worth it. The drive to st brigida was beautiful and it was easily to loose yourself looking out the windows of the bus. The Italian tour guide was fantastic and very patient. The castle we visited at the vineyard was equally as stunning as the view over the vallys. They even put on a little lunch spread for us. I took my sister along who suffers from coeliac's disease and they even whipped her up something gluten free at the last minute so she didn't miss out on lunch. The wine was nothing short of AMAZING. We couldn't help but buy several bottles after the tour through the cellar. Best wine tour I've ever been on.
