AMAZING Tuscany tour. It was pouring rain, and it was still one of the most awesome wine country tours we've ever taken. A castle winery in the rain, little plates of salami, parmesan and bruschetta. A knowledgeable guide who not only told us what we were seeing in Tuscany, but also on our way out of Florence. Little added side trip to Greve for more wine tasting and a visit to a meat/wine shop. MILES of hanging prosciutto. This trip is a must.
Great wine and great food...also olive oil ..really enjoyed the trip.
Price was perfect and the tour was proper length. About a 40 minute bus ride out to the wine country. We toured a castle where they talked about wine and olive oil harvesting and processing. Then went into a tasting where we had three wines and some snacks (which were a great choice- toasted bread with olive oil, cheese, meat) . It was a nice amount of wine to taste- at least 1 glass of each depending on how many we're drinking at your table. The last dessert wine and cookie was a hit with my wife, but to sweet for me. We had 2 kids with us and it was very accommodating. The kids were behaved so it was not a disruption to the others (someone else mentioned kids were a problem and that did not distract us as you can see) . Trip back on the bus was a bit. Ore lively as you can imagine. We also stopped at a small town to do so e more tasting or touring. This was free time on your own. I highly recommend this for some nice time to the wine country at the right price and length.
My friend and I had a delightful time on the tour! The staff was very knowledgable and really friendly. The olive oil was great and the wine was amazing! The view is incredible! I hope to return again soon!
An amazing tour through the wine country. The wine tasting was in a beautiful inhabited castle where we got to go through their wine cellars and see 1904 wines still intact. A beautiful vista from the patio and delicious wine. Then we went to a cute small town, Greve. A delightful time!
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. I'm a country girl so I loved the whole thing especially the scenery. Only bad thing I can't remember the names of the women that toured us
This was alovely way to see a bit of the beautiful countryside outside of Florence. The castle which we visited for the wine tasting was beautiful and it was great being able to see some of the areas that are lived in as well as the wine cellars, a very informative and interesting tour, and the wine wasn't too bad either!!
We enjoyed this tour. the tour guides were very informative.
Fabulous tour! The winery is gorgeous and the wine tasting was a great experience.
This half day tour exceeded all my expectations (which were high anyway) and highly recommend to all. Elena Pacini was our tour guide and she was fantastic!!! The weather was rainy that day and flooding on roads to Chianti region, but our driver, Sergio Nastasi, navigated the roads like a pro and I would go back again and again with these 2 wonderful guides from Viatour for this tour. LOVED IT!!!!!
This was a great tour. Both the tour guide and the guide at the winery were very good. Learned a lot about the family history, wine and olive oil. We were in Europe for three weeks and went on many tours and this one is at the top of my list.
One of the most amazing experiences of my life. The tour provided a plethora of valuable information. I would do anything to come back, and hopefully I will have the oppurtunity to do so one day!
Fantastic tour of Tuscany and the wine of the region. Recommend it, but it was slightly pricey.
Tons of fun. The vineyard was amazing and the castle had a ton of history.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Florence. It was terrible weather pouring with rain all day, when we went which spoiled it to begin with. The coached picked us up opposite the train station met by a lovely tour guide who gave us commentary in three languages during our drive out of Florence and up the hills into the Chianti Region. We went to a castle up in the Tuscany hills where we had another tour by one of the proprietors of the vine yard. He gave us an amazing explanation of the wine making process and the extra virgin olive oil. We saw the wine cellars and then we all sat in a stunning old hall in the castle and had a mini wine tasting lesson followed by three glasses of wine, white and two red Chianti. Plus a plate of bead with traditional local toppings including the Extra Virgin oil. It was simple and lovely. When we finished and ventured outside the rain had stopped but it had left a fabulous mist over the hills which made the landscape look like a
film. I will never forget the experience, the views, and the wine! We brought several bottles in the shop afterwards, which please make sure you are not taking back in hand luggage- because I made the foolish mistake of forgetting the rule of liquid in hand luggage and had to pay extra at the airport to check in the bag, but it was worth it the wine and E.V. oil was wonderful. Thoroughly recommend this tour to a wonderful independent wine makers in stunning scenery and such lovely people too, it did not feel commercial I really felt welcome.
loved to tasting layout great wine great food! the square was kinda neat as well
Suzie, our tour guide, gave us a walking tour of the castle at the vineyard. Wine tasting was great and bought some to take home.....very enjoyable!
Paul from Orlando, FL
The tour of the palacio was great. Informative, interesting, the wine was great(i am not a wine lover) and the snacks were good. I learned everything i needed to know about olive oil!
The first stop to the cave in santa brigida was not worth the walk in the rain.
This was the highlight of our visit to Florence. It was just beautiful. The weather was perfect, the tour group was small, our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of the Tuscan region.
The bus ride through Tuscany was beautiful. The castle where the Chianti wines are produced was enchanting. The wine tasting was excellent. They served four different wines along with authentic Italian cheeses and bruschetta. The visit to the town of Greve was a plus. Lovely town with a beautiful main square filled with local merchants and music.
We recommend this tour highly!!
My partner and I have heard that the Chianti region is a must-see when we were in Florence. We booked the trip and we were both very glad that we did. It was a 5 hour-ish tour of which 2 hours were for commuting from Florence-Chianti and vice versa (1 hour each way). We loved our tour guide! Her name is Deborah Vannucci. She was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The tour was well-worth the money. However, IF you absolutely love wine, wine tasting and have a strong desire to explore the region as well as spend more time there, I would recommend doing it on your own. I won't forget to mention the the tour guide (Deborah) also gave me great recommendations for great restaurants/food/wine for Cinque Terre!
Beautiful trip to wine region. Great setting in castle for wine tasting. Fun day!
Absolutely brilliant day! The trip was well organised, the pick up point was easy to find, the guide spoke really good English and it was great value for money. The wine tasting involved lots of glasses of different wines (not just a few sips like I was expecting) plus a large plate of food! Fab!
