Our guides Freddy and Molly were both excellent. Went out of their way to make our experience quite pleasant. While the hike is a bit demanding, there is time to take breaks. It was a fun group and we met a few interesting people.
This day has been a highlight of trip so far! Lavi and Martina were outstanding, enthusiastic, knowledge and helpful. They really made the day what it was. Saw so much all in one day, I couldn't recommend this trip enough! And the food....amazing!
One of the best experiences of my life. The hike alone is a challenge in a great way. Do it when it's not so hot, I did this trek in 38 degree. Included lunch was amazing with fresh fish antipasto. Air conditioned bus ride. Boat ride, weather permitting. Good amount of free time to explore the towns
A fantastic day, the guides were excellent shout out to Freddie and Jonny and made the trip so much more memorable. Would definately recommend this tour.
OMG!!!! Johnny what a fantastic tour guide, fun, caring, passionate about his job and very serious about ensuring ALL his guests are well looked after. The Cinque Terre Hiking day trip was the highlight of our trip, not only did we challenge ourselves by doing the hike but we met such wonderful people along the way. The sights were amazing and the villages beautiful. Every step of the way our tour guide Johnny made sure everyone on the tour was okay and accounted for, escpecially when it was time to get on the busy trains!! Johnny you were amazing and if I ever do this hike again I will definitely be asking to be on your tour and Walkabout what can I say we booked 3 tours through your company during our Europe journey and each and everyone of them were unforgettable experiences with tour guides who really care and really know their stuff. Congratulations on a great company.

I had such a wonderful time! Highly recommended you guys. You don't wanna miss this. :
Amazing tour! This is with Walkabout, which is by far the best tour company in Florence. Freddie and Lavina were amazing guides. They are very knowledgeable and despite the large group they learned everyone's name and got to know them. It is a bit rushed in a few of the towns, but it's cool that you get to see all 5. Lunch was delicious. Definitely a must-do!
If you like to hike, you will LOVE this trip. This is probably not for the beginner hiker like me. I made it through. Although I prefer looking at nature through my window at the Ritz Carlton, I have to say it was one of the best organized and scenic activities that I have ever participated in. I can't personally say that I would do it again...but, if you like the outdoors and are somewhat active, YOU will love this!
This is an amazing experience which my husband and I in our late 50s will always cherish. The company is really well organized. Interesting tidbits of information pertaining to the passing countryside was given on the way. When we arrived at town 2 Manarola we walked around the terraced gardens. Wethen took a train to the foot of the hill which is town 3 Corniglia. The 382 steps up to the town were interesting, but not overly difficult. A brief tour of the town culminated in a delicious lunch in a beautiful terrace. We had a mixed plate of fresh seafood, which is not at all the Fear Factor some might think. I bullied my husband into being brave and he was so glad he did. It was delicious, as was the pesto pasta. We then began the 1 hour hiking trek over to town 4 Vernazza. The extreme temperatures high 30s did add to the intensity of the workout, but it is quite doable. There are some things I would recommend if doing this on really hot days the hike will cause you to sweat as there isnt much shade on the path. So: 1. Bring an extra shirt and water. There werent many opportunities to fill our water bottles, something I wish the guides for Walkabout might address. 3. Wear waterproof sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and sturdy hiking shoes.Once in Vernazza, we had over an hour and we asked the guide where we could sit in the shade and have a drink. Although he gestured to the yellow umbrellas near the water, when we arrived we discovered that meals must be purchased in order to sit there. We met at the train station and went to town 5 Monterosso and then boat from there to town 1: Riomaggiore. Apart from the water situation, my only other recommendation for the guides would be to offer more photo opportunities/suggestions/assistance. Good vantage points you could recommend, or take the time to point out, would have been very much appreciated. At times, the pacing felt like: rush wait rush- wait. Overall, its an excellent tour.
Freddie was one of the greatest tour guides we've ever met: organized, well-informed, engaging, interested, caring and hard-working. It was a 12-plus hour day, but he made it fun and informative. Highly recommended.
This tour was awesome! Our guides from Walkabout Florence were the best!
Fantastic even in the rain! Rain provided a cool feeling so it wasn't boiling hot during the hike. Hike was totally manageable. Guides were fantastic - Fred or Frank and Johnny or Gianni, can't quite remember. But they conducted themselves professionally through a tough situation and were pleasant to talk to and joke with.
Great taste of spaghetti with pesto sauce, good tour guide, good programme
Yes...you will get a workout, it's beautiful, great day, highly recommend!
Phenomenal tour! It takes all the hassel out of seeing Cinque Terre, train or car? how long is the drive? where do we park? what's the route? This tour gives you plenty of time to experience Cinque Terre and the bus ride is very entertaining with the outstanding and funny Fabio and Angel. These two guys are fantastic and made our bus ride seem like one hour. Additionally, they know the history, facts, and stories of Italy and truly care that you have memorable experience. Awesome tour!!!!
Fabio was a fabulous guide, trip was fun and informative- WALKABOUT company guides are knowledgeable, professional, and trip is highly recommended!
Best day ever walk very challenging in the extreme heat but well worth it. Our guide Sandra was fabulous the small villages were unbelieveable a must see when going to Florence. Loved it. Would highly recommend it dverybody.
Gloria and Lavi were amazing tour guides! So energetic and enthusiastic. Great day!
Great day hiking between the five towns, absolutely gorgeous views of the coastline, a nice lunch, and a chance to take a tip in the water. We had some rain in the morning but it did not stop us from enjoying the hike. The trail has some climbs so you need to be in at least moderate shape and the pace is brisk. Bring your camera because there are some great photo opportunities. This is not your traditional tour of large groups moving slowly together listening to a guide talking over headsets. Our guide was Johnny and he was enthusiastic and kept us engaged and moving. You will have free time in each town to explore and treat yourself to some gelato. If you like the outdoors and hiking, this is the tour for you.
AMAZING! Worth every penny. Seriously such a nice getaway from the endless museums. This colorful cliffside villages are more picturesque then anything in Florence. From tickets between buses, trains, and boats this tour takes the hassle out of the day and you the only tour that you get to see all 5 villages with time for swimming in the crystal clear sea on 2 of them! A must. Fabio aka fabs was our tour guide and made the trip extra entertaining. You have to make sure you get a Pan Fritto on the 5th island only made on that island and soo yummy As a penny pincher myself who pre-plans everything myself to save money, it was totally worth it! So glad we did! My only complaint is that we couldn't stay for a couple days in this beautiful paradise. Bring good shoes but shoes that can go in water and water bottle!
Excellent trip. Well organized with awesome tour guides. Please note there is a lot of walking/hiking, appropriate shoes are required. Experienced a little bit of everything. Traveled by train and boat, hiked along beautiful trail on side of mountain with amazing vistas, took a dip in the Med and ate local food. Don't hesitate, book now!
This tour was the best part of my trip! We didn't get to take the boat ride which was a HUGE disappointment for me but everything else about the trip was great. The guides couldn't have been better!!
