What You Can Expect

Cinque Terre Small Group Day Trip from Florence

Explore the gorgeous Cinque Terre on a day trip from Florence!

The Cinque Terre is formed of five postcard-perfect fishing hamlets that hug a rugged coastal stretch of the Italian Riviera.  Learn all about the area as you travel with a guide from Florence.

Pass through Tuscany into Liguria, before heading into Corniglia, your first Cinque Terre village of the day. On a walk through the village, take in cliff-side views and stop at a local bar for a glass of wine with bruschetta.

Afterward, continue to Vernazza, which many say is the prettiest of the region's five villages. Enjoy time on your own to explore Vernazza’s open harbor, and see the castle and church. The break gives you enough time to enjoy lunch at one of the open-air restaurants that flank the waterfront, or amble through the backstreets to stumble upon sweeping coastal views.

In the afternoon, meet back with your guide for a boat ride to the most southerly end of the Cinque Terre: Riomaggiore. Stacked into the cliffs, the candy-colored houses of the village are a dramatic sight, so have your camera ready as cruise in to shore. After a walk around Riomaggiore’s streets, travel onward to Manarola.

Here explore the alleyways and squares that are typical of the Cinque Terre’s oldest village. Enjoy some time at a wine bar before you  journey back to Florence. Your day trip finishes at the start point in the early evening.

Please note: From October 13 to March 31, the boat ride to Riomaggiore is replaced with a coastal train ride.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended February 2016

We had a great time. While the beginning of February is not warm weather, the benefit is that there were no crowds. Our guide, Adiorno, was great! He drove us to the first town, let us explore on our own, got us on a train, met us at the second town where he had arranged wine and bruschetta. We had plenty of time to explore, take photos, admire the scenery, have a great lunch - and then he picked us up and took us up to the third town and a bonus trip up the mountain to a tiny town.
He was there when we needed him. Let us be by ourselves to explore otherwise which was perfect. We were a very amiable group - 5 of us from 4 countries, three ethnic backgrounds - great conversations, cooperation, humor. A lovely time! Highly recommended!

Adriano was well-organized and a pro at keeping our small group going in the correct direction at the right time. The tour was relaxed, unhurried, picturesque and the perfect introduction to Cinque Terre. Would definitely recommend the services of Adriano if you would enjoy exploring this unique area of Italy and are without your own transportation.
