Sandra was a very professional tour guide, plenty of information and fun. The cooking class was first class, Carmela was delightful, the group dynamics was great and we all had a perfect day in a perfect county settling . The best tour I've been on, highly recommended.
This tour/cooking class was absolutely wonderful, I would do it again in a heartbeat! Sandra our guide was fantastic. She was so funny, friendly and knowledgeable, and the local market tour at the start of the day was so much fun. I learned so much while walking with Sandra, and then stopping to get all of our fresh ingredients for the cooking was amazing. The views from the farmhouse are incredible, its worth the trip alone just for that. But then the cooking! And the eating! It was all so delicious! I seriously cannot say enough wonderful things about this day! DO IT! You won't regret it!
What a great day this was. Our guides Julian and Valeria were just fantastic, knowledgeable about food, Florence and wine...wow, what a combination. And the farmhouse where we had our class and lunch was so beautiful. I can only highly recommend this tour. Do yourself a favour and take this tour, not only is it good, but wonderful value for money.
Our day of cooking at the Tuscan farm house was the highlight of our entire 2 week vacation!! Lavi was our guide and by the end of the day I felt like we had a new friend. She is lovely, knowledgeable and cheerful. The farmhouse is stunning and the chef was adorable. I brought my 3 adult sons and we had a wonderful day together bonding over food and wine. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who likes to eat and drink!!! It was a wonderful experience!
BY FAR THE BEST EXPERIENCE ON OUR EUROPEAN ADVENTURE! A MUST DO! Cannot say enough about Gloria, Olivia, and Carmella...professional, warm, knowledgeable, personable, and extremely hard-working. We are not full-day tour people, we love to cook and laugh, so this was the perfect amount of time walking the streets of Firenze to learn things we never would have learned just walking on our own, and getting a hands-on experience with a great chef. The food was amazing, we met people from all over the world, enjoyed wine overlooking the city from the hilltops in Tuscany...what more do you need??? BOOK IT NOW!!! Thank you, ladies!!!-Kristin and Steve
I like to do a cooking class when traveling abroad. And I this was a great class! The farmhouse is absolutely stunning and you will enjoy every minute there. It's the best experience and opportunity you'll have to make all of the Italian classics. Grilling the bruschetta bread, tossing the pizza dough, rolling the pasta, and whipping the gelato - it's the Italian food lovers dream!! I should say that it was a fairly large group with 20 to 30 people but the space could accommodate everyone easily.
We had an amazing time with Elisa and Laviana. They were so generous with their time and such fun hosts. Thank you both!
The local market tour in Florence was excellent! It's worth the extra money. We learned about the history of Florence, stepped into an old church, and learned about bread and ordering coffee in Italy. This was a really fun part of the day.
Great tour and cooking class! Julien was very knowledgable and all around funny guy. Ate a TON of great food. The local chef Carmela was basically the straight out of movie. The only thing I would change would be to make the cooking portion a smaller group.
This was my favorite day of my 20-day trip. The trip to the central market to pick up ingredients was so much fun. The tour guides had such wonderful fun-chemistry with each other. We made several dishes, were given lots of wine and were even presented with certificates. The food was generous and included pizza, bruschetta, pasta with ragu sauce, roast pork, roasted potatoes, gelato, and another dessert that was terrific, but I can't remember the its name. The class area was state-of-the-art and comfortably accommodated everyone in the group. Everyone was encouraged to dig in and help make the food, but no pressure was put on anyone. What a exceptional day!
We thoroughly enjoyed our day; from Molly and #39;s friendly and informative walking tour, to the shopping, the cooking, and of course the eating. Well done, Walkabout!
I really enjoyed this tour! It was fun to walk around Florence and learn a bit more about the city while also picking up the ingredients we needed from local vendors. The cooking lesson was hilarious and well worth it! And we ate way more then we needed to, but it was so delicious! Thanks to Sandra and Valaria for the great tour.
Out of my 36 days in Europe this was my favourite day!! Our guide Lavi took us around Florence to the different markets to pick up our ingredients. We stopped at a coffee shop and she paid for our coffee. Then at the villa we made pasta, pizza, bruschetta, tiramisu all from scratch and then ate it!
Wow what a great time. Gloria and really were the best guides ever. Great location, great food and lots of fun. It was the highlight of our trip.
This was the highlight of our visit to Florence!! We had so much fun! Our tour guides Martina and Sandra were amazing!! The property was absolutely gorgeous!!! This was our second tour with the company walkabout with our stay in Florence and again they definently meet expectations and beyond!
This was the very best tour possible. It far exceeded our expectations - History, Culture, and Great Food. Sandra was a fabulous guide and Carmela was the best Chef ever. The tour made our trip to Florence the highlight of our vacation. Even my husband participated and loved it. I would recommend this tour highly to everyone.
Fantastic day learning about Florence and it and #39;s cuisine. Tour guides were friendly and knowledgable and worked wonderfully with Carmella who is a real diamond. The location of the cookery school is breathtaking and made it a perfect day out.
Went for our honeymoon and we had such a great time. Our guides Gloria and Olivia were amazing. The food was so much fun to make and enjoy. Highly recommend!
Well done, insane set up, exquisite place to be and learn, for sure you gonna have an amazing time. Unbelievable Carmerla teacher and the two beautiful and adorable guides, can't remember their names.
My wife and I did this tour while in Florence on our honeymoon. It was definitely worth the price and highly recommended. You start the tour walking the streets of Florence learning about the history and incorporating food in all the information. We then stopped for a coffee and learned about how Italians drink coffee. Next you head to the market to get ingredients for the cooking class. After you get everything you head up to the farmhouse in Tuscany. The farmhouse is gorgeous and I loved being up in Tuscany. The cooking class is taught by Carmela, a true Italian chef who has a great personality and was such a character. The two guides Sandra and Gloria also assist and help as well as a few other helpers throughout the cooking. All the food turned out great and I'm so happy to have learned some new tricks about making great authentic Italian food. Sandra, our group guide on the walking tour was great and very personable. She also had a ton of knowledge about Florence and I definitely would recommend checking out this tour if you're in Florence and have an interest in Italian Food!
Enjoyed every moment of this tour. Julian was a wonderful host. The facilities for cooking were amazing, never expected my own workstation for making pasta! The staff were all helpful and friendly. And the recipes were all sent to my email, so I didn't have to worry about writing them down and could focus on the experience. Wonderful food and wine, fabulous facility, great hosts - all in all a very satisfying experience.
During our 2 weeks in Italy this was THE Hilight of our trip ! it's a 7 hours worth every minutes. Visiting Florence, the Café, just the visite at the market we didn't do because of the rain but than at the farmhouse ! wow wow wow ! what an experience we cooked bruschetta, pasta, pizza, tiramisu, gelato all that in a magnific environnement and with a lot of Chianti vino ! I already recommanded it to friends who goes in August and they signed up for the class. We just wait for the recipes to impress our friends and family here in Québec ! I also have photos if you tell me how to do I will join them. Thanks again, good service, on time, good guides A
We booked the Tuscan Farmhouse Cooking Tour and we were so exceptionally happy with it. Our guides (Gloria and Olivia) and chef (Carmella) were fantastic! We loved the beginning walk around the city with all the special notes and information, plus the stop for coffee and fresh bread! Thank you Gloria for sharing all your favorite insights about the city!!! The farmhouse has been done up beautifully ... Incorporating a classic Tuscan small farmhouse with new elements and a gorgeous kitchen with all the bells and whistles. The dining patio is fantastic and the view unmatched. We couldn and #39;t have picked a better way to spend Father and #39;s Day!!
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Loved the hands on aspect with the cooking and of course the eating was amazing!!!!!! lol. Our guide Julian was awesome, he knew a lot about the Florence area and history. He kept us all involved and interested during our trip. I highly recommend this tour!
This was one of the best things we did on our entire trip to Italy. Julian and Sondra were so amazing and made sure we were always having a blast!
