What a wonderful evening! The meeting place was really very straight forward to locate, and our host, Eduardo was there, on time, to escort us to his lovely home, where we were greeted by our chef Varinia. We were dining with another couple, and their daughter, and we enjoyed a glass of Prosecco prior to dinner. The dining room was initially set up with two tables, but our dinner companions suggested that we join tables, which was easily accomodated and we embarked on a memorable evening of lively conversation. Each course was delicious and the portions very adequate. Wine was available for purchase and accompanied each course beautifully. Varinia joined us for some conversation after dinner, and is certainly a warm and interesting woman. My son and I highly recommend this experience.
A truly amazing experience. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. The food was fantastic and the intimate atmosphere well worthwhile. I would recommend this tour very highly.
Our hosts Eduardo and Vary were excellent. The food was sensational. Thank you for a wonderful evening
awesome meal, highly recommeded. whole exp is 5 star, better than any restaurant
This was, by far, the best eating experience we had in Italy. This satisfied EVERYONE in our group of 6 - including my picky husband and 13 year old son. Even better than the food was our warm and gracious hosts. We felt like we were at home - not on vacation. What a wonderful respite from the rigors of vacationing.
This was certainly one of the very special highlights of our trip to Florence and would highly recommend this to anybody travelling to Florence. The food was sensational as were the hosts.
Eduardo and Sylvia were so hospitable, Food amazing, atmosphere was truly what we wanted to feel for our First night in Florence. Looking out there windows into the the Florentine streets was thoughtful moments for me.
made us feel like family. Thank you Sylvia and Eduardo for warm Italian freindship
This was fabulous. we had a great group and enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone. Meal was superb! and the chef came out at the end and chatted with us . It was also fun to see inside a house.
This was fantastic absolutely a must for anyone visiting Florence very good value.
Absolutely lovely experience. Beware of the concept of the center of the city-it is the center of Florence, but not where you expect it to be. Allow yourself 15-20 minutes by cab to arrive at their home. Food was magnificent and she was such a nice hostess and she was experiencing tremendous back pain. A must whilst in Florence.
My wife and I absolutely devoured our dinner, and couldn't have been happier with our hosts.
This was perfect for our first night in Florence. The group was tired and we just wanted to eat. Our host was Giglio Bianco gastronomic bed and breakfast. They are professional cooks and opened up there home with a feast and personal attention to all of us. It was a experience everyone should do.
Chef Vary is amazing. The food was delicious. It was worth every moment.
Our dinner was fantastic and our hosts were friendly and entertaining - we had a lovely time. I highly recommend this experience as a pleasant (and delicious) break from restaurant dining.
This experience turned out to be a great surprise and was the absolute high point of our vacation in Greece and Italy; I would give it TEN POINTS if I could.
The residence is a small bed and breakfast in a pleasant, largely residential neighborhood in the Otranto (other side of the river) district. It is an easy walk over the Ponte Vecchio from the Uffizi Gallery and a ten or fifteen minute taxi ride from the Florence Centrale train station area (about $10E each way). Patrons tend to dress nicely casual. The dining room seats 10 people or so depending on table ccnfiguration and encourages both intimacy and friendly conversation between tables; it is very nicely decorated with lots of bookcases, antique furnishings, and a marble fireplace with quite a bit of tasteful art on display. The room has high ceilings and tall narrow windows for lighting and ventilation by fresh air that open into a leafy tree canopy on an adjacent property. The preparation and presentation of the gourmet northern Italy food dishes made from local fresh ingredients is imaginative (no pasta or tomato sauce) and so far above typical nice restaurant fare as to beg comparison. The host and chef are most engaging, gracious, and charming...we loved them and their interaction with the guests. The only small hiccup was that there was a miscommunication between them and Viator regarding my wife's dietary preferences which they solved most expeditiously and courteously, e.g., "no problem, don't concern yourselves, tell us what she likes, and we will do it with what we have on hand!!" We were celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary and having dinner here was the perfect way to end our last day in Florence. If you don't take advantage of this reasonably priced experience you will really be missing out on a wonderful dinner in a wonderful setting with wonderful people!
