Loved this tasting, the sommelier has a real love of local produce and wants to share this with you. The tastings of wine and food are a good size and the way they are matched really enhances the best in both the food and wine. Lovely way to spend time in Florence, and would highly recommend this tour. If I am ever lucky enough to come back, I will defiantly do this tour again.
In a very pedestrian district so plan your transportation well in advance. If you're driving there is pay parking on the next block. Store is very modern and well-appointed. He was understaffed that night and still did a good job taking care of us. Really good information with even better food and wine. We just happened to be the only ones on the tour and we loved the intimate Q and A session. Left with a couple bottles of our favourites, but there were probably hundreds to choose from.
This was fun, the shop was great, wine was great, not a bad moment
My wife and I were the only two people at the Wine Tasting and a very lovely wine connoisseur was our hostess guide through the delicious world of wine and cheese. We sampled 5 wines and array of various cheeses. A lovely experience - one that we would gladly do again.
Our cheese and wine tasting was outstanding. The others who scheduled did not show, so we ended up with a private tasting and the sommelier was great. She was very knowledgeable and very kind in her approach. It was a great way to be introduced to the region and the city of Florence, and was very helpful to us for our tour of Tuscany the following day. We highly recommend this tasting.
The wines were great and the cheeses very good. The guide was so knowledgeable about wines, and very kind :-) we had really good time! Highly recommended.
My husband, daughter and I enjoyed this wine and cheese tasting a lot! It was a great way to start our time in Florence. It was small, personal and educational. The wines were great and the cheeses very good. It certainly set up a brilliant four days in Florence. Highly recommended.
Small group made this experience very worth while. We had a very nice couple who's family made wine in their family for decades. They chipped in the maker's side of the story while learning how to taste wine!
My wife and myself were the only participants at our late February 2012 tasting. Our hostess/presenter was very knowledgeable, had prepared ahead of time, and seemingly enjoyed taking her time to present and discuss. She covered basic wine tasting techniques and wine evaluation. She added value beyond what was described in the tasting blurb, for example, by having vials of odors to compare to the bouquet of the wines. She did well handling our wide variety of questions that went beyond the wines in front of us. She spoke very good English. The wines were all of good quality and true to their type. There were small amounts of three interesting cheeses. We had not had young pecorino before. The two extra virgin olive oils we had were eye opening as we had not treated olive oils like wines before. How to make this better? Have more wines, as Tuscany has many more types than were represented at this tasting.
Unfortunately my Husband took ill at the tasting and the staff were amazing in helping me get an ambulance and assistance with getting back to our accommodation. We are sorry that we missed this as it was starting to be a good evening......
Zeno was great. Very knowledgable and answered all our questions. Tasting involved approx eight different wines and the cheese was fantastic. As we progressed through he different wines he explained where each was produced and how. If you like wine this is a must do!
This was very informative and a great opportunity to taste different olive oils and balsamic vinegars.
