A good way to get an overview of the Florence, plus the ability to get off and tour an area and then back on a bus to move around the city.
The three different routes that 'city sightseeing' provided made it easy to explore the sights of the city. We felt relaxed and found the stops easy to use.
Worth every cent. The evening tour was really amazing. Guides were were knowledgable and funny.
There are two routes of the busses - A and B. The A route goes inside the city. Rout B goes to a small town of Fiesole, you can see Florence from the surrounding hils. The best way - to buy 2-day ticket. Then you can use both routes abd see all. The change of the routes is at the Train station and Michaelangelo sightseeing place.
We had a wonderful time. The tour was convenient and informative.
I think the 1 hour tour (line B) is a good introduction to Florence. the prerecorded commentary is short and to the point. Once acclimated to Florence (with the hop on hop off tour), I was able to go back and fill in details. I highly recommend this tour.
A great, but quick, tour of the city. I rode the tour all the way through (without hopping off) twice. There are two routes -- one is an hour loop and one is a two hour loop. When I was there (in late November) there appeared to be only 1 bus on each route, so if you hopped off, it could be an hour wait for the next bus. On at least one stop, I would have liked to hop off and take more pictures (but didn't because I didn't want to wait an hour for the next bus).
There is SO MUCH art in this city, the narrator could be talking every minute of the tour. A lot of things went by without comment -- I appreciate that the tour company had to decide what would and would not be covered.
