Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Florence City Hop-on Hop-off Tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
There are two routes of the busses - A and B. The A route goes inside the city. Rout B goes to a small town of Fiesole, you can see Florence from the surrounding hils. The best way - to buy 2-day ticket. Then you can use both routes abd see all. The change of the routes is at the Train station and Michaelangelo sightseeing place.
We had a wonderful time. The tour was convenient and informative.
I think the 1 hour tour (line B) is a good introduction to Florence. the prerecorded commentary is short and to the point. Once acclimated to Florence (with the hop on hop off tour), I was able to go back and fill in details. I highly recommend this tour.
A great, but quick, tour of the city. I rode the tour all the way through (without hopping off) twice. There are two routes -- one is an hour loop and one is a two hour loop. When I was there (in late November) there appeared to be only 1 bus on each route, so if you hopped off, it could be an hour wait for the next bus. On at least one stop, I would have liked to hop off and take more pictures (but didn't because I didn't want to wait an hour for the next bus).
There is SO MUCH art in this city, the narrator could be talking every minute of the tour. A lot of things went by without comment -- I appreciate that the tour company had to decide what would and would not be covered.
As we were only in Florence for one day, the bus was a great way to see the whole city, especially seeing Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo, before getting off to walk around specific areas.
A great tour with a plethora of attractions to see. We even found roman baths and amphitheater to see that we would've never seen had it not have been on the map. The amphitheater was at exit 17 on the red line (Fiesole) and definitely worth your time. Barely anyone comes here, and has AMAZING views. The buses come often and really help your feet after all the walking you still have to do.
This was the best. Great information, plenty of room on the buses. I have taken other hop-on hop-off tours and I'm always happy with the experience.
This is the best way to get your bearings in a new city. Your ticket is good for all 3 routes offered. We rode all 3 and became well-acquainted with the geography of the city. The bus stops are clearly marked on the maps and on the streets, and they run on time! One of the routes takes you outside Florence up into the nearby hills of Fiesole. Looking down and across onto the city gives a whole new perspective. The multi-lingual audio system enhances the tours.
