AWESOME, food was great, the restaurant was really nice and the concert was something else. It was an opera concert for a small group of 20, very intimate, close and entretaining. When they knew we were from México, they changed the program a little bit in order to include Granada a Mexican song. The singers were great, at the end they were open to talk with us and take some pictures with us... One of our highlights during our stay in Florence, even my kids liked it!
This is a nice evening light and entertaining
Perfect ending to our time in florence
We did the a la carte restaurant that was outstanding. We paid a little more but had one of the best meals we had on vacation. Then we went to a small intimate group maybe 25 people and heard 3 opera singers perform for us. It was a great night and I highly recommend.
Very enjoyable evening -- the restaurant provided great service and excellent food, and the concert was a special delight.
The concert was an Unexpected delight. Well worth doing. The dinner was not so spectacular, but well managed and located near the church for the concert.
I am highly recommending this excellent tour. A nice dinner at a local restaurant in an Italian-like cellar type restaurant. Food was great!! Then, you are in for a fantastico treat!! The opera singers and piano player at St. Mark's Church were beyond excellent!! Very moving and inspirational even if this is your first experience with opera or you don't even like opera at all. The setting is intimate and it just makes for beautiful acoustics in this very pretty church. I was brought to tears at one point from this wonderful experience. We had a great night!!!!
Wonderful dinner experience and the concert was just the right length and was quality. Fun experience and was a surprise at how good it all wa.
We loved this tour - would recommend to anyone visiting Florence. We met up early for dinner at a surprisingly cosy cellar restaurant. Over a pleasant dinner with plenty of wine and lively conversation we got to know the rest of our small group who hailed from - New Orleans, Malta and Germany (we are from the UK).
We then took a very short walk to the venue - a small church. Not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised to be introduced to an internationally acclaimed musician who would act as host and accompany the artists on the piano. The artists were a Tenor and Soprano each one having received many plaudits and critical acclaim in their own right.
We were then treated to a selection of solos, arias and duets from popular operas and stage shows.
The small church was a perfect setting with excellent acoustics and our tour assured us of front row seats from which to enjoy our concert.
All in all this was a unique and intimate experience which will reprise on our ' to do ' list on any revisit to Florence.
This was our first introduction to Opera and what a better place than Italy for our first time. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. The start of the evening was in a small restaurant which was quite hard to find. I asked the owner if this was the right place for Viator dinner and concert and he kept saying, Caf tour, yes, sit! Other people who arrived were also confused. The meal was very nice and consisted of pasta in a Bolognese sauce, pork with chips and tiramisu, and a carafe of red wine. A short walk to the church and then the show begins. The Compere/Pianist was entertaining and very good. And what voices the couple had as they sang duets and arias to familiar songs. We sat mesmerised until the end! It was an amazing experience. I will be visiting Florence again and will definitely be revisiting this tour.
This tour is fantastic! I highly recommend it. The concert is in a small, beautiful Anglican Church. The performers-pianist, tenor, soprano-are true professionals. The tour group enjoyed front row seating. Just terrific! Dinner was okay, nothing special. The restaurant is very near the church. Don't miss this concert.
The guide was informed as well as entertaining. Because the group was all English speaking it went well. There was give and take, questions and answers with the guide and much more was learned. It is an inefficient use of a little time to have to hear two versions of the same remarks. The meal was very good but it was very warm in what we were told was a former wine cellar. The proprietor appeared to have a A/C system but did not have it on. Loved the arias performance. The trio moved effortlessly through so many lovely numbers with beautiful voices and convincing dramatics.
This was a wonderful addition to our itinerary in Florence. Our evening's guide was informative and entertaining. The dining was a fantastic sample of Tuscan fare. The concert was amazing. I would recommend this evening to anyone.
I had never been to an opera before, so I thought Italy was the perfect time for a first time. And I have to admit I was really impressed. I wasn’t too sure of what to expect, and I thought it may not be my type of music, but I really enjoyed it. The opera singers were really passionate and did an amazing job. I can’t wait to go to the next opera now!
Absolutely brillant. It was a fab evening, the tour guide was a fun chap who really made the evening start well, the dinner was very good with tasty food and wine, the group we were with really got on well and we all had such a good time getting to know each other. The concert was the highlight of the evening, so professional and I am so glad we attended, the pianist arranged it all and most of the funds made went to a very worthwhile charity. Thank you and we will be recommending it to all our friends.
The dinner was ok, I dont eat meat and the vegetarian meal contained a lot of cheese which I dont eat either, it was a pretty standard meal, not outstanding. The concert on the other hand was fantastic, fabulous evening, the singers were definately outstanding! Rated on the concert only.
Great evening in Florence. After dinner we didn't have to go far to go to the concert. The venue where the concert takes place is very nice. Small but nice and the concert was fantastic.
This experience was great......first of all, the host was expert, friendly, and to our utter delight, totally a man of the world (and Florence).....the five-course dinner was first-rate, and we enjoyed the pleasure of meeting new friends from all over the world in our group....and the best, was the opera, and the beautiful church....super talented singers, and piano accompanist......well worth the money for a great, great night out in the best city in the world.
A wonderful evening. While the food was perhaps a little basic we still enjoyed it and the singing was exceptional
A very entertaining evening. Lovely Tuscan dinner in good company followed by a simply marvellous taste of the opera in the form of duets and arias all conducted in a lovely church. Beautiful and atmospheric.
