Horse Riding in Chianti Day Trip from Florence

Explore the beautiful Chianti region by horseback during your day trip from Florence

Your tour will begin in central Florence, where you’ll meet up with your guide and hop aboard a minivan set out for the hillside. Watch the scenery out of the windows switch from bustling city life to dense forests, vineyards and olive groves.

Arrive at the stables after 45 minutes and get acquainted with your horse with a safety and orientation session. No previous riding experience is necessary for this tour, and riders of all skill levels are welcome.

Strap on your provided riding hat and head out into the open fields of the Chianti countryside with your guide. Take in the fresh air and stunning landscape as you gallop through open fields and forested trails.

After an hour, return to the minivan to travel to a local winery, where you’ll enjoy a tour of the cellars. Learn about Chianti region's unique winemaking tradition and the process of production.

Then head to a stunning Italian villa, wrapped in cypress and olive trees, where the cellars of a boutique winery sit. Settle down for a traditional Tuscan lunch of specialties like salami, bruschetta, prosciutto and Pecorino cheese, complemented by fine Chianti wine. Hear about the characteristics of each blend while you sip, eat and relax.

Your wine tour and horseback riding experience will conclude with drop-off back in central Florence.

This was a fun and beautiful trip into wine country. Riding horses through the vineyards was very picturesque and our guide, Serena, was very knowledgeable about wines and the region.

Excellent all around - our driver / assistant was a lovely, personable young woman. The ride itself was great - all that gorgeous Tuscan countryside. The dinner was great. Only complaint - they skimped on the wine.

This tour was absolutely the best! We were a small group, guided by the best tour guide we've ever had, Eliseo. The horse riding in Chianti was a unique way to see the beauty of the countryside. We then went to a small, family owned winery, followed by a great lunch with the most beautiful scenery ever! We did this tour on our last day in Italy and it was such a wonderful way to end a great trip. I would give this tour and this tour guide more than five stars, if that were possible!

What an amazing day, the staff were excellent in particular Christian our driver who was attentive and a great host.
If you do go on this tour try to go on a Saturday. Then you get to visit Misha's farm. I really think that the tour operator should have a new tour an afternoon with Misha. I know that I would sign up in an instant!

Detox from the crowds and hustle and bustle. If you have ridden horses in Mexico, this will stun you with the difference. The horses are beautiful and clean. They know where to go and what to do. Just relax and enjoy the scenery. Olive trees and vineyards make for a postcard ride. Enjoy the ride. Not for children. Great winery tour and lunch. DO this last on your Florence trip as a reward to yourselves. Oh and remember that Max the dog is really in charge.

We had the most amazing time! Our guide Francesco was excellent - so knowledgeable and happy to answer questions and help. We virtually had a private tour because there was only the two of us. We would use this tour company again if we were in Florence.
