What You Can Expect
Train journeys between the two cities can last up to 2.5 hours, but your high-speed train shuttles you into the heart of Venice in just 2 hours. On arrival in the city, head out to explore! How you spend your time in beautiful Venice is up to you. Entrance fees to attractions and any meals are at your own expense.
Check out Venice’s must-see sights such as St Mark’s Square and Doge’s Palace, from where the powerful yet treacherous doges of Venice once ruled, and discover iconic attractions including St Mark’s Basilica and Rialto Bridge. If culture is your thing, pay homage to contemporary artwork with a visit to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, or pay a visit to Ca' Rezzonico Museum of Eighteenth Century Art.
To help you get around the city, a Vessel ticket for use on the city’s vaporetto transport system is included. The ticket is valid for 12 hours and covers most areas in central Venice.
At the time advised by your host, make your own way to Venice’s Santa Lucia Station and travel by train back to Florence. Your independent day trip then finishes at Santa Maria Novella Station in Florence.
Very well organised and professionally done...thanks
We traveled to Venice last Monday from florence by the high speed train and what a pleasure.Viator have been so professional everything was fantastic we were met in florence station the rep explained everything to us and we had a great time .Venice is a must if going to Italy
I know it was expensive but we were so looking forward to this tour as we had got engaged in Venice 2 years before. The train station of Venice is well away from the hustle and bustle of St Marks square. At first we made advantage of the water taxi ticket we had been given and caught a boat to the glass making island of Murano. This took 45 minutes and its so beautiful. We came back to Venice for lunch and found a reasonably priced restaurant in the back streets. Afterwards we visited the Rialto bridge where we got engaged and took some photos before looking through the market. We boarded our train just after 5pm and watched the countryside while drinking wine and reminiscing on our 2 hour journey back to Florence.
This was so much fun and Venice is beautiful! Thanks Viator! I had a great time.
Loved the new train in Europe experience. Great hotel in Assissi. Thank you Rebecca Freek - can't wait to have you plan our next trip!
The tour package went smooth, was reliable, and definitely eased our planning for our day trip to Venice.

The train ride was fun and an easy way to get to spend a day in Venice. It was very easy and the information given by the meeting person at the train terminal made sure we understood exactly what we needed to do. Definitely a great choice!
Fast and easy. We enjoyed being able to tour the city ourselves.
This was great!
