it was good having it all arranged but to be honest think it could be done cheaper by arranging train at the station yourself as Venice was quite easy to get around
I loved this and would definitely recommend it. We met the tour guide at the train station. She gave us our train tickets, water taxi tickets, and a lot of information regarding travelling throughout Venice. Definitely worth the price.
We found the representative easily at the train station and her instructions made this an easy and enjoyable trip. Thanks so much for the adventure.
Great trip on high speed train at 300KPH. Tour agent met us at Florence railway station and clearly explained the travel arrangements and what we needed to do and where and when we needed to be there. Venice beautiful but check the tides for the square as it was very wet during our tour.
First off, i booked this for part of my wifes birthday surprise and a surprise it most certainly was! Neither of us had been to venice before and its just stunning. We met our ticket operator within the main station of florence which was easy, handed the tickets and the operator explained brilliantly what you needed to do to get your boat pass and where and when you needed to be on the train. Its a direct 2hr journey and couldnt have been made any simpler. So anyone could have an awesome day in venice like we did. We loved it!
Would we do it again or recommend it, we most certainly would!
Tour host gave us information and tickets for train and vaporetto we purchased a map of Venice. Lines to attractions were long, therefore we spent most of the time in St. Mark's square, walking the quaint streets, and having lunch.
Free and easy only train and vaporetta tickets
We managed our way
Overall a very good trip aviator provided the essential information and the Rapid transport from Florence to Venice. We made some basic mistakes when in Venice which were our fault. Unfortunately the
Venice marathon hindered our getting around Piazza San Marco and the waterfront.
A once in a lifetime trip with most of what we expected.
This day trip by high-speed train from Florence to Venice was well worth the money. All you have to do is show up at the train station on time, pick up your train and vaporetto ticket, and catch the train. You arrive in Venice around 11:00 in the morning and depart around 7:00 in the evening, so you have lots of time to see the sights along the Grand Canal and around St. Mark's Square. I would recommend this day trip if you want to be on your own and not part of an organized tour in Venice.
This is a good offer, which basically packages the travel expenses (only) for a day trip to Venizia from Firenze by high-speed rail and vaporetto/water taxi. Purchasers will be on their own to plan activities, and to get themselves back to Santa Lucia train station in time for their return trip. Basically, this means an afternoon in Venice. Train service was excellent, though not top of the line, but more specific instructions on how to use the code provided to get a vaporetto ticket from the automated machines would have been helpful. A very satisfactory service, and a wonderful half-day in Venice.
This trip was great from the perspective of being able to spend a day in Venice. However, it could be improved by better guidance on how to obtain the boat-bus tickets after arriving in Venice. Also, it was a bit over-priced considering you can easily buy the tickets on the high-speed train and tickets yourself, and have much more flexibility in the trip. All in all though, we would have never known such a train even existed without having gone.
On booking this trip, I had no indication on my voucher where to meet my contact person to pick up the tickets at Santa Mara Novella Station. It being a station, which is a very busy place, I had no alternative but to make an overseas call before I went on holiday, to the UK to enquire about this. This took some time as the other person on the other end of the line had to call someone else which meant some time had to pass to give me an answer. this was an uncalled expense. Apart from that once we were informed and I was in Firenze I met the contact person who gave me the tickets and other information like tragetto timetable in Venice
This tour was a nice tour. It did rain which made it a bit uncomfortable once we were there, but that is not in anyone's control. However, my only problems with the organization of the tour was a few things I felt could have been done better...1 we were given our tickets for the train and water taxis but our train tickets had seat assignments that were sitting separately....we had to wait to find seats together and move So we could sit together for a 2 hour train ride. This happened on return trip also. 2 I also felt for the price they should include a map of Venice since it was a trip without a guide. We had to purchase one when we got there. Otherwise it was a nice day and the trains are very nice.
This is not so much a tour but more of someone arranging a high speed train ticket and water bus ticket for you as a package. It could easily be arranged on your own. Spending 8 hours in Venice wandering around was enjoyable, especially wandering beyond the main streets that are packed with vendors looking to extract as many Euros as they can from you. The street life and Piazzas that were off the main streets where an enjoyable look at life as a Venetian. The trip gave us a taste of the city that has created a desire for my wife and I to return for a longer stay in the future.
The trip was great! Unfortunately, you aren't able to get a very late train out of venice, even if your train is delayed to get into Venice. That was the major area of frustration, it was "oh too bad that the train was an hour behind" but you get no kind of refund or the option of a later train back. But that being said, venice is incredible and any time in the city is time well spent.
Venice was great and train ride fine but could have done this on my own as their was no overview or content about Venice given,, it was nice to have water taxi tickets given to you though.
Just okay. You can buy the train tickets yourself at around the same price.
The Vaporettor tickets were a waste as one could practically walk all the way from San Marco square to the S.Lucia station. These could be replaced with a small ride in a Gondola. And would be nice if the agent could provide a map at the station instead of you wasting time getting one at the information office.
It was a beautiful day to tour Venice. However, we found the Vaparetta was slow going and very crowded. Also, there really was not enough time to see Venice. I would recommend that you work in an overnight stay into your tour and a return via high-speed train the following day. This would give your tourists an evening to dance to the orchestra in St. Mark's square and really get a feel for the romance of this amazing. city.
When we got to Venice, the "red machine" we were told to use to get our water vessel ticket did not have any option to enter our code. We tried it several times and even had a nice Italian woman help us but no luck. We went to the ticket window and they directed us to a different ticket window, and they directed us back to the same machine which we tried again and it still did not work. We then trecked to the ticket office where they tried to look up our code and even my name but nothing in the computer. So they had us walk down further to a different "red machine" which finally had the right option. All of this mess took us nearly two hours. We tried to call the number we were given but it would not go through. So we had very little time in Venice. This was a waste of money.
