It was OK, but could have been better

The scale of the tower was smaller than what I had imagined. The tour was average - the guide who joined us at Pisa seemed rather mechanical. An option with tickets to enter the tower may be worth it.

This tour is worth doing. It was hard to understand the guide because the group was too big and Pisa is so busy. There was not enough free time. Perhaps it would not be a bad idea to tell people to keep their seats during the trip. Some people have to be told.

The tour felt too short, at only one and half hours. But at least our guide was good.

Our group was too big, so the tour operator split the group in two. One went to the tower, and our group walked to a university down the street. After our guide told us a little about the university, we didn't even go inside. We just stood there in the courtyard. Most of the group just walked away. There were about six of us left. Finally the guide took us back to see if the other guide was ready to take us to the tower. The tour was very unorganized, but the tower was great.

The Basilica was closed and we couldn't see it from inside. I had reservation to climb the tower but my entry time was out of schedule. The visit to the city was worthless, they should just spend time at the main plaza to give you time to visit the Baptisterio and the Cemetery. My recommendation is go by yourself, the plaza is close to the train station and you can go and come back to Florence on the same day.

The tour was rushed. Although the explanation was great, the area was quite noisy with so many other tourists around. I would advise going with a tour that provides a headset for each individual.

More historical background would have added immensely to the tour. The pick up point was so poorly described that we spent half an hour panicking and running to find the right bus.

It would have been nice to have a little more time in Pisa.

This was a good tour, but we didn't get to go up into the tower. The tower sells tickets for timed reservations, which didn't allow us time for a trip up without missing the bus back to Florence. This should have been part of the tour. Still, we had knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides. The sights were beautiful, and there is some fun shopping all around the area. It's a 10-minute walk from the bus to the tower. This was not expected by some of the older, less-active members of our group, so just be aware.

The tour was very rushed. It would have been nice to be advised to pre-book to walk up the tower as I didn't know that this could be done.

On our Viator pre-paid voucher I printed out and took with us to submit when getting on the tour bus gave the name of the supplier and that we should call 24 hours in advance to reconfirm reservations. I tried calling repeatedly, mind you paying cell phone and hotel charges, and they NEVER answered the phone. This led to us looking all over the place and checking what felt like 25 tourbuses for where we could pick up the bus and ALMOST missing the tour! It gave the area where the bus would be but didn't say what kind of bus, name on the bus, etc to look for.

Other than that the trip was good, the tour guide was great on the way there telling us about the history of certain areas we passed but upon arrival we seemed too rushed through the basilica and then by the time we went back in to look around and got all our pics of us with the Leaning Tower it was time to meet the tour guide to go back to the bus. If you can I would recommend just renting a cheap car for the day and driving yourself so you can leisurely enjoy Pisa.

There was not enough time to climb the tower. We were disappointed.

The tour was not adequately staffed for the variety of languages in the large group. The tour guide from Florence was not organized and did not manage the large group well. The group was finally broken up into 2 smaller groups at the gate into Pisa, led by the local tour guide. The tour guide from Florence did not give the tickets to the local guide. This created confusion and additional delays which were completely unnecessary.

Too far to walk and not know ahead of time. The bus left us off and we walked quite a distance through town to get to the tower and then no restrooms were available. There was only one on the tour, and it was broken.
