The tour was well organized and interesting. My only reserve is about the Siena visit : too short but on the bright side it was the first time we were able to visit a Contrada museum.
Highly recommend this trip. Only about 16 in the group which is a good size for the guides to 'manage' and didn't have to waste time waiting for stragglers. Siena is wonderful - especially liked the atmosphere in Piazza del Campo as it had been prepared for the Palio which was due a few days after our visit. Santa Maria della Scala is fascinating. Unfortunately didn't have time to go into the Duomo (as it was Sunday, we could only get access after 13.30 and time was limited). San Gimignano is very pretty, but very busy. The guides were excellent - very knowledgeable and passionate about the 'sights'
This was such a lovely tour. We fully enjoyed it! Siena's history is so rich and San Gimignano is so pretty!
Had such a wonderful day, coach comfortable, guide was fantastic. Just to see the wonderful Sienna and San Gamignano.. the views were breathtaking over the Tuscan countryside.
Like everything else we booked through Viator, this tour was very well organized, informative and thoroughly enjoyable. Irina was delightful and very knowledgeable, offering us the chance to book a lovely (and cool) lunch at a local restaurant in Siena which was delicious and a much needed break from the heat. Our local guide in Siena was very droll, but he gave us a lot of information about Siena's history, particularly the cathedral and the horse races, about which we knew nothing. To imagine the thriving city being decimated by the Black Death was really something. And San Gimignano was also incredible, and there is no train to get there, so a tour is a must.
This was the second time we have taken this tour. Two years ago we enjoyed it so much we just had to see these two gems of Tuscany again. Siena is jam packed with history and interesting places to see and wondering its ancient cobblestone narrow streets without cars is both relaxing and inspiring. Lunch in this wonderfully historic square a memory to cherish. San gimignano is a small walled Tuscan village perched on the top of a hill, offers the best icecream and Tuscany tourist shopping anywhere. The views from anywhere from this village walls in any direction are magnificent. Highly recommended for anyone that visits Florence to fit this day trip into their schedule for a full Tuscany experience. The wine and truffle stop on the way home a added bonus.
Fantastic time. Siena was more interesting than I expected and San Gimignano was brilliant. Great way to see both places if you don't have a lot of time.
William was an excellent guide, and the trip was a great introduction to the beautiful Tuscan countryside! The bus was comfortable and the narration very helpful in teaching about what we were seeing along the way. I will use Viator again and look forward to spending more time in each of these beautiful places. Thank you!
The tour really showed us Siena and San Gimignano, the surrounding countryside in a way we could not have done on our own. William, our tour guide was excellent and really knew how to keep us together and get us to where we needed to be. The lunch he set up in Siena was very good and was ready for us as soon as we got there. William is great!
Two magnificent medieval cities were a great day trip from Florence. The tour guide in Siena was full of facts and information about the history of Siena. The Campo really is amazing to see. It was especially interesting, as Siena had just run the Palio the week prior and the tour guide gave us a great history of the Palio. San Gimignano is a great city to wonder. The historic walled city is a must see.
The tour was excellent! The tour guides were very detailed and knowledgeable. The wine tasting we attended was also amazing. I highly recommend the tour!
Excellent tour. Siena guide was knowledgeable, witty and patient. Siena and San Giamagiano are very interesting. Tuscany is beautiful.
