Accademia Tour only so-so. Could do it on your own. But Uffizi was great!

It was very hard to hear the guides. When I took a tour of the Vatican, we had earphones connected to the guide with a microphone. It was much easier to hear and follow along.

Our tour was split into two days, which was good - all of that art in one day would be too much. The David, at the Accademia, was unreal. It was breathtaking, but the rest was boring. The Uffizi was a little boring, too, because we aren't big art people and there weren't any really famous paintings there. The guides on this tour did not wear microphones, so we had to stay close to them to hear what they were saying.

In both galleries, we had a hard time hearing the guides since they tried not to be too loud so as not to be disruptive.

Our first guide was great. She took just the right amount of time and gave just enough explanation. The guide for the Uffizi was very knowledgeable but maybe too much so. I have studied art history, but even I was ready to move on and see the rest of the museum. We ran out of time and didn't get to see everything I wanted to see. Unfortunately, you don't know what kind of guide you might get.

The tours were informative. The Accademia really only had the "David," which is spectacular in its own right. The Uffizi was also great in all of its glory; it had tons and tons of great art. The only disappointment was that no headphones were given with either tour. It was hard to hear the guides, especially with so many other tours going on at the same time. Both museums were packed.

Whether you get a good tour guide or not is a crap shoot. I felt that I knew more than the guide at the Accademia just from taking art history courses in college.

The crowds were huge and we still had long waits to be admitted. Guides were knowledgeable but hard to understand due to the crowd noise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Accademia. Our guide was native to Florence, he was well informed and passionate about Michelangelo. His insights on the David were marvelous. I can't say the same for the Uffizi tour. Our guide was well informed, though her command of English was not very good. The real problem was the noise level in the museum and the fact that our group was so large that most people could not hear her very well. Many of us gave up in frustration and great irritation, though we would drift in and out of her tour as we moved through the Uffizi.

Accademia was very crowded and it was difficult to hear our guide. Uffizi tour group was way too big, again couldn't hear guide. Spend your money when you find a smaller group tour.

The galleries were fantastic, especially David and the Accademia. The tour guides were great, however we could not hear them above the background noise. It would have been better if we all had headsets.

The our guide was terrible. He gave bad information and did not use microphone, which prevented majority of group from hearing the tour. It was not worth the money. The best part was that we were able to skip the line.

Although we have a great time with the tour, I think only the David was worth the time. The Uffizi is a must only for art lovers. We have to keep looking for the tour agent guy and fight with other people to get the tickets. It seems like there is no queuing in Italy. Make two copies of the voucher, one for the Accademia and one for Uffizi, the tour agent will not return your voucher. We got very good tour guide at Accademia and not so good guide at Uffizi. It depends on you luck.
