This was a great tour given by Valentina, an excellent tour guide. The inside view of Brunelleschi's Duomo is breathtaking with the view of the frescos, Dante's interpretation of Paradise, Purgatory, and Hell in The Divine Comedy. Finally, walking up the Duomo is an exciting experience, added to Valentina's story of Brunelleschi's temperament and genius. In the end, the view of the city of Florence, an extraordinary moment.
Not for the faint of heart since you do have to walk up over 400 steps, but that's part of ther adventure. Valentina our guide was quite informative about the history of the Duomo and kept a reasonable pace taking us up. I would love to have done the tower, too, if only to get a better photo of the Duomo's exterior, but that wasn't part of the deal and will have to be done on another trip.
Brilliant guide, effective skip the line, saved us 2 hours queing!
Awesome experience! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the excursion and the gelato at the end was the best!
Views were incredible from the top. The climb itself wasn't as tough as I thought. Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgable.
Our guide Maya did a wonderful job! We went straight to the front of the line and up to the top of the dome. The stops along the way provided a rest as well as information. The view from the top of the dome both inside and outside was tremendous.
Benedicta, our tour guide, provided our group with a wonderful tour experience. She was informative, personable, and professional; even handling a tour member's fear of height in a compassionate way.
Duomo tour was fabulous. We'll worth paying extra and skipping the line. Highly recommend. Our guide was a wealth of information. Information you just don't get from a book but from her tour guide and life experience.
This tour, was incredible. First of all, the tour guide was AWESOME. He was super outgoing and really told the stories well of the Duomo being built, as well as getting us to the front of the line to do the tour. (Skipping the line, isn't really a thing in italy, you basically just have someone wait in line for you and cut when they get to the front...slightly awkward) However, this was my favorite tour that we did of Florence. The climb, is not that bad, you take a few stops on the way up to catch your breath. The view is incredible of Florence, 360 degrees, and you are given ample time to take pictures and talk to the guide about what your are looking at. Then he took us to the baptistry, also beautiful. His explanations were clear, concise, eliminating anything uninteresting, and keeping the group together and completely engaged. It was the BEST tour!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND...
Informative, guide very tolerant of slow walkers (climbers) and absolutely fabulous gelato at the end. We really enjoyed the afternoon. Thanks very much
Great view from the top. We are both in our 70's so it took as a little longer to reach the top but what a sight. Our guide was very interesting and made the trip.
This was a brilliant tour. The steps to the top of the dome came at the beginning of the tour, it was a little hard going but worth it for the fabulous view of Florence. The young guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Would certainly recommend this tour.
Our guide Valentina was above and beyond a great guide. She was patient, knowledgeable, and helped us understand the history of this magnificent architectural masterpiece. She was very personable with my wife and I while the other members of our tour needed to rest and she finished the tour by taking us for Gelato. She went above and beyond her duties when she guided us and translated for us to a local Photographer when we wanted to purchase a professional photograph of the Duomo. She was great and would recommend this tour to anyone;-) 5 Stars Plus!
Awesome views and a feeling of accomplishment making the climb up the dome. Guide was terrific. Only suggestion would be to make the meeting point clearer, as there was a little confusion as to exactly where we were meeting, but I called the guide to clarify and after that it was easy to find.
