Wonderful!! Our guide had a degree in art history and used her knowledge to help us understand not only what we were seeing, but how the different rooms and pieces of art interrelated and why each painting or piece of sculpture was created. The Uffizi is a large gallery and she moved thru it quickly and efficiently. She gave us plenty of time to take in everything in a room while working to an end of the tour. I was happy that we were free to extend our stay in the gallery after the tour ended, but felt no need to do so.
Although the museum was terribly crowded, out guide Marcello made the tour enjoyable. His wit and story telling ability brought the art and history to life!
A great guide who knows and enjoys her work, a very pleasurable experience
Guide was friendly and informative and great at keeping the group moving, well worth bookings
Monica was an excellent tour guide: knowledgeable, informative, concise, and in clear an articulate English.
It was nice to get into this tour at the last minute. This was the only place that had availability on the short notice in which we were looking. Our tour guide was excellent. Although there we no lines, it was nice to include the tour to learn some history about the art and not just look.
It was a really nice tour! our guide Roberto was well prepared, so nice and funny we really enjoy our tour. The views are amazing and the amount of information too. Definitely a must do in Firenze!!!!
The guide was waiting at the museum 15 minutes beforehand as advised. We were given an earpiece and a receiver which we wore around our necks - this allowed the guide to speak in a normal speaking voice but we could hear her over everyone else. I think her our guide's name was Ide. She was very knowledgeable and took us around the museum at a good pace and allowed us plenty of time to look at the exhibits. Be warned - although you do have skip the line access with this tour we still had to wait 20 minutes to get into the Uffizi just because of the way that they allow people into the museum, so there was a lot of waiting around before we got in. We then had to queue to go through the metal detectors and then there are four flights of stairs to climb! Our tour was due to start at 4.30pm and we didn't get to the first exhibit until 5pm. However, I would really recommend this tour as an excellent way to see the best exhibits in the museum.
Great - our guide was informative and the tour very interesting! Much better than just relying on a guide book!
Absolutely fantastic - all over too quickly. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and patient with quite a large party, she didn't seem to miss anything - we would thoroughly recommend this tour and in fact we will go back and do it again sometime.
Tour was informative and entertaining. Guide very knowledgable and spoke excellent English.
Learning the history of Florence and the museum at the start of the tour provided great context for the works throughout the tour. We would have missed so much without the assistance of our guide. Who by the way was quite entertaining and extremely knowledgable.
Tour was in general very good. The afternoon was a great time to visit the Uffizi Gallery. Our guide was very charismatic and informative. She took us to the most important parts of the museum and offered very interesting and engaging information. Would recommend it to anyone!
Great tour. Our guide was wonderful and we were able to join her next tour of the Acadamia. Would highly recommend.
Best way to do the museum. Your get a guide for the highlights for 2 hours and can go back to see more afterwards. Plus you get skip the line.
This was an excellent tour - our guide, Antonio, did a wonderful job of explaining the paintings he showed us. A Florence highlight for us for sure and well worth it!
The tour joining instructions and arrangements were clear and efficient. We were clearly jumping a very long queue, so the cost was worth it, with or without the conducted tour. (We met a party from Australia who were mortified that they were unable to get in during their time in Florence.) The Uffizi is one of the great Galleries of the world, particularly for Renaissance art, and I would hate to have missed it. The guided tour lasted 90 minutes. The guide was clearly an expert, and made a well-judged compromise between showing us as many items as possible, and describing a few of them in detail, with great insight.
