What You Can Expect
At the Medieval castle of Montefioralle, stroll around this enchanting castle and admire the breathtaking scenery with incredible vistas of the Chianti, and appreciate the slower pace of life that hasn't changed for centuries as you stroll around the streets of this enchanting hill town.
At Greve in Chianti, the principal town of the Chianti, you'll have some free time to explore this friendly market town (Market Day is Saturday) with the opportunity to do an optional wine tasting or olive oil tasting while in the town. Before lunch, you will visit a local vineyard to learn more about the wine-making in the Chianti and to enjoy your first wine tasting of the day. You'll enjoy an optional lunch at a delightful Trattoria (not included) with undisturbed panoramic views and delicious regional cuisine.
In the afternoon, continue your tour of the Chianti visiting Medieval hill towns and their fortresses that once formed the league of Chianti in the 13th-century where you'll enjoy more incredible views of the countryside.
To celebrate your day trip of the Chianti wine region you will visit another noted vineyard for your second wine tasting. And while sitting back savoring the subtle textures and tones of the wine, contemplate the beautiful countryside that has been your constant companion during the day.
Beautiful, breathtaking, countryside!! The growers of the two vineyards we visited were very hospitable. Our guide Giacomo was quite knowledgeable, a gem.
Great tour, wonderful friendly guide. Highly recommended day trip from Florence
Good bus, Jacamo an excellent driver we saw the countryside and had frequent stops. Not suitable because of timings to take photos but most enjoyable wine tastings. No lunch available at a trattoria but purchased at the first vineyard meat and cheese platter for 15 e each. Very informative tasting at our second stop but unfortunately due to other visitors there was no room for us to sit outside for our tastings which would have been nice. Overall very nice to get out of the city and see the countryside.
Fantastic tour. The scenery was amazing and the wineries and towns we visited were just perfect. The van was very comfortable for the drive and the length of the tour was just right. Our guide Fabrizio (forgive me if I've spelled his name wrong) was the best. He went out of his way to pick up other people on the tour who were late, took us to a few spots that weren't necessarily part of the tour (like stopping on the hill above Florence for pics, etc). One of the people on the tour left her phone behind at a previous stop, and Fabrizio called back, arranged to have someone he knew look for it and then got it back later in the day and was going to deliver it to the hotel of the person who lost it. Top notch service for sure.
Our guide was so knowledgeable and helpful. We had a wonderful day learning about the Chianti region. What a great experience.
Great guide with a passion and lots of energy. Winery was reasonable and nice selection of wine. Couple of stops for pictures. Well worth the money.
Excellent. Loved the terra cotta factory. Nice variety. Excellent tour guide(Lorenzo)
Our Small Group Chiati Wine Region Day Trip was outstanding! It was definitely one of the best tours I have ever taken. We had a terrific driver and guide-Tiberio. He was very informative and told us many interesting facts about Tuscany. I especially liked that this tour included a visit to a pottery factory, medieval castle and market town as well as two wineries. The only negative for me was I was expecting lunch to be on our own. Instead it was at the first winery and was a sampling of cheese, salami and prosciutto shared by two persons.
I did not.know that was our lunch and we paid 15euros each for it. Still having said that, it was a fantastic trip and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Fantastic Tour!! the guide was exceptional and friendly. He didn't rush us, even when we would take some extra time to explore different places that we visited. We felt the stops that we took we are great and very worthwhile. Highly Recommended!!
Our small group tour of 8 was wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed! Our tour guide, Tiberio Fabbri, had a wealth of knowledge about the Italian countryside, history and people, it truly enhanced our experience! We experienced so much more than the 2 wineries; but the highlight was our lunch with wine paring at one of the wineries! A perfect day overall and one of our favorites in the 2 weeks abroad!
