the lunch that was made for us at the vineyard was absolutely incredible, with multiple courses that kept on coming out. Although it was raining it was still beautiful and we got to taste a lot of different wines and get different winery tours which were great.
A beautiful day with lovely wines, lovely scenery, amazing history, awesome cheeses, brilliant information and very cool guides!!
Great guide, fun drive, amazing vineyards. Defiantly work it! One recommendation, if you just want to leave with one or two bottles of wine/olive oil, I would buy it from the castle vineyard. The last stop doesn’t have the same select and is better suited for larger orders only. The per unit cost of shipping wine back to the US is very expensive, unless you ship back 20+ bottles.
It was a good choice! We had a fantastic time in the countryside. Visiting nice places, being told interesting facts about wine and testing some good Chianti! Meeting point was easy to find and we had a native English speaking guide :) Dinner was also very tasty, even for those with more sofisticated taste. Go for it!
Highlight of my trip! Very knowledgeable guide, outstanding and plentiful wine, delicious lunch, beautiful scenery. Will definitely do another tour on our next visit to Europe!
We did the Ancient Rome and Vatican your with Dina and it was just great! She was super knowledgable about the sights and history and lovely to deal with! I highly recommend the tour.
Very friendly and knowledgeable host by the name of Martina who took us to the wineries. We loved the wine, and even sent some home (hope it gets here soon!). We were lucky to have only four of us on the tour (my family!)
This was a small tour, only 5 of us and absolutely incredible! Matteo was our guide and he was very informative, and welcoming. Beautiful country up in Tuscany, great wine and lunch and we had a terrific time! A must do!
Absolutely wonderful day. Mattel, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and very friendly. We enjoyed six wines at two different wineries and a lovely lunch to cap it all off. Best of all, there was no rush. We were free to take pictures and enjoy the wine until we were ready to move on from each stop.
We had a beautiful day in the country. The Tuscan countryside is spectacular. We toured two vineyards and had an amazing meal in between. I learned so much about Chianti wines. I had no idea there was so much complexity to producing these amazing wines. Highly recommend the trip.
Amazing. Our guide Jacomo was awesome- very knowledgeable and friendly. The wineries were beautiful and the last stop at the castle was a great end to the trip. One of our favourite days on our honeymoon.
Our guides knew so much about the wine and the region I wish I had recorded everything they said because I know I forgot a lot. A good sampling of wins and delicious food. I would have loved to have spent more time and done another few vineyards in the region, but for a day tour it was the perfect amount.
This tour was liked by all of our group. Our guides Mateo and Jacopo were both very knowledgeable about the wines of the Chianti region and the tour of both wineries was interesting . The cheese , bread ,olive oil and lunch that were a part of the tour were all delicious. It was great to have someone drive us around the area, it made for a relaxing day. Very highly recommended.
This was an excellent tour. It was not a far drive from the historic center of Florence. It was not only enjoyable, but also informative. The wine, food, view, company, and guide were all exceptional. I highly recommend this tour!
Matteo was a fantastic tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable and personable. The wines and food were outstanding. If you have more than one day in Florence definitely do this tour!
I bought this as an anniversary present for my parents as part of their trip to Italy and they said that, without question, this was the highlight of their trip. The tour was fantastically run by knowledgeable and personable people, and they met great people in the group as well. I've personally used Viator before but this was the first time using them for someone else. As always, they did not disappoint. Two thumbs up for this tour and Viator!!
As with any tour, the most important factor is the quality of the tour guides, and the two we had for this wine-tasting tour were outstanding. Both of them are trained sommeliers, so they were ale to speak in great detail as to the wine-making process and the unique characteristics of the Chianti region. This tour included tastings at two different wineries, and included 9 different wines, 5 olive oils, cheeses and a lunch of pasta. The drive from Florence was about 30 minutes to the first winery yet you were clearly in the beautiful scenery of the Tuscan countryside when you arrived. This tour is a must if you desire to experience Tuscany from the perspective of those who work the vineyards and produce world-class wines.
Highly recommended! Best tour in our trip! Our guide Steven was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the wines. Would do again when we come back!
We had the best tour guide. Answered all our questions and was very accommodating when it came to taking pictures for us.
The tour was fantastic. The guides were wonderful. The wine was delicious with great cheese and other food pairings. I would highly recommend this experience to people wanting to experience some of the tastes of Tuscany.
Tour was great, lived up to the description. Steven, the tour guide was exceptional!!!!!
Steve was an excellent guide, wine commentator and wine tasting expert. Wineries were beautiful and the whole tour was informative, delicious and fun!
A lovely day in the vineyards, with excellent guidance from Matteo, driver cum sommelier. We visited two wineries -- one in San Casciano Val di Pesa and one in Montespertoli, two different sub-zones of Chianti -- as well as a charming medieval village called Poppiano. Early fog gave way to bright sunshine. The departure was on time from the centro storico in Firenze, and the drop off was at the Ponte Vecchio. All in all, a terrific day.
