This tour exceeded my expectations. Luca was awesome, knowledgeable and it was a great group. The lunch was fantastic. I am typically not a "tour" person but would not have been able to see all these locations traveling on my own.
Amazing tour, Luca was great! Highly recommend for everyone, you will remember this forever! Love it!
This trip was amazing, Luca our tour guide was really good, very knowledgable and funny, must have been his 9 years in glasgow !! Beautiful countryside, great lunch and the wines were fantastic. Our group came from all over the globe and were all very nice, excellent trip and great value.
This was amazing value for money! The wine samples were large too! Food was delicious and Luca, our guide, was informative and funny! A great day was had by all!
Our Taste of Chianti tour was arguably the highlight of our trip to Florence. Lead by our English speaking guide Luca, we had the most fabulous day. Luca is a native of the Chianti region and was a wealth of interesting local information, on both food and wine. Because we were a small group, the mini bus was able to easily negotiate the country lanes and take us into the heart of Tuscany. The 2 wineries we visited were ancient castles and the wine tasting in each stunning. Our splendid lunch was a culinary delight and a perfect setting. Thank you Walkabout tours!!
This was a fantastic tour, exactly what we pictured and more when we dreamed of what our experience of Tuscany would be like! Lots beautiful wine and extremely tasty food. The views were breathtaking and our guide Chris was lovely, going above and beyond to make sure everyone had a special day
AMAZING! Our tour guide, Chris, was highly knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The wineries visited were gorgeous, the wine tasted was delicious and the food at lunch was amazing. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence that is looking for a great day out.
Fantastic, the whole program was well lined up. The guide Luca was great, must fo trip, no regrets!!
This was a wonderful tour and our guide Lucca was knowledgeable as well as entertaining. It was a very good value for wine knowledge, beautiful scenery and a delightful lunch in a country setting. We never felt rushed and had time to relate to the other guests on the tour. It is obvious that Lucca loves his work!
This full day tour was absolutely amazing. We had the greatest guide that knew everything about wine and cheese and also the whole Tuscany area. He spoke fluent English and was also very good looking and funny.
Another very important thing was that the tour only had 14 people which made it very.
Words cannot express how amazing this tour was. This was a full 10 hour tour starting at the train station in Florence, and going all around the Tuscan countryside of Chianti. The wine was amazing, the food was spectacular, the scenery and views were breathtaking, and our tour guide, Martina, was fantastic. The tour ended up being just myself and my wife, so we really received the VIP treatment I felt.
Without giving away any spoilers or surprises, the tour consists of 2 wineries (on opposite ends of the success spectrum). One is a very large-scale operation, with centuries of wine-making under their belt. The other is a very small winery that sometimes struggles to break even. Seeing both of these wineries was amazing because the comparison between how both of them do business really helps you understand the wine alot more. The destination that you go to for lunch is an experience in an of itself. You will NEVER forget your lunch. In addition to those 3 stops, there is an extra stop in a small town in the middle of no where, that you get to explore on your own - simply amazing.
Like I said in the beginning, this was the absolute best day of our entire 16 days in Europe. We learned so much, experienced a side of Italy we were not expecting to, saw some amazing views, ate delicious foods, drank spectacular wines, and had an absolute blast with Martina. I cannot recommend this tour enough!!!!
This tour was fantastic! Was definitely our best day in Florence. We were lucky enough 2 be the only people on the tour so it truly felt like our own personal tour of Tuscany. Our two knowledgable guides Stephano and Luca picked us up in central florence where we drove in air conditioned comfort to our first winery. (Thanks Francesco for the safe driving). We were given a tour by the vineyard owner and our tour guides, and were offered 3 different wines to taste, along with some bread. We explored the wine cellars, took a look at where the olive oil is processed and enjoyed the spectacular views from the castle tower. There was no obligation to purchase but we did leave with a beautiful bottle of wine (which we brought back to australia to celebrate our recent engagement) and some bottles of olive oil which made perfect gifts for family back home. The Tuscan landscape is just divine and there are endless photo ops throughout the day. On the tour we had the most amazing 3 course lunch along with two more glasses of wine. Water is offered with all of the wine tastings and at lunch.During the day we sampled a selection of three beautiful local sheep cheeses and some local shaved meats. All were delicious!! We had an opportunity to stroll around Greve without our guides, the perfect time to purchase souvenirs or grab a coffee. At the 2nd vineyard we visited where we able to stand amongst the vines while our guide Stefano explained to us all about how the grapes are grown and made into wine, the history of winemaking, the difference between Chianti Classico wines and Super Tuscan wines etc . it really was a learning experience. Both guides taught us how to taste a wine and look for different tastes/smells and characteristics within the wines. I'm not sure I was able to do this very well but I had fun trying! It was interesting 2 sample some wines with bread and others with chocolate and see how this changed the taste. I highly recommend this picturesque, wonderful, tasty, informative tour.
This tour was amazing, worth every penny. It was a wonderful leisurely day in Tuscany in a small group. We wined and dined all day long. Chris was our guide. He was very passionate about the wine, food, and lifestyle in Tuscany. He was born in Italy, went to college in the United States, and now currently lives in Italy. He could easily relate to both US and Italian traditions.
