This full day tour was absolutely amazing. We had the greatest guide that knew everything about wine and cheese and also the whole Tuscany area. He spoke fluent English and was also very good looking and funny.
Another very important thing was that the tour only had 14 people which made it very.
Words cannot express how amazing this tour was. This was a full 10 hour tour starting at the train station in Florence, and going all around the Tuscan countryside of Chianti. The wine was amazing, the food was spectacular, the scenery and views were breathtaking, and our tour guide, Martina, was fantastic. The tour ended up being just myself and my wife, so we really received the VIP treatment I felt.
Without giving away any spoilers or surprises, the tour consists of 2 wineries (on opposite ends of the success spectrum). One is a very large-scale operation, with centuries of wine-making under their belt. The other is a very small winery that sometimes struggles to break even. Seeing both of these wineries was amazing because the comparison between how both of them do business really helps you understand the wine alot more. The destination that you go to for lunch is an experience in an of itself. You will NEVER forget your lunch. In addition to those 3 stops, there is an extra stop in a small town in the middle of no where, that you get to explore on your own - simply amazing.
Like I said in the beginning, this was the absolute best day of our entire 16 days in Europe. We learned so much, experienced a side of Italy we were not expecting to, saw some amazing views, ate delicious foods, drank spectacular wines, and had an absolute blast with Martina. I cannot recommend this tour enough!!!!
This tour was fantastic! Was definitely our best day in Florence. We were lucky enough 2 be the only people on the tour so it truly felt like our own personal tour of Tuscany. Our two knowledgable guides Stephano and Luca picked us up in central florence where we drove in air conditioned comfort to our first winery. (Thanks Francesco for the safe driving). We were given a tour by the vineyard owner and our tour guides, and were offered 3 different wines to taste, along with some bread. We explored the wine cellars, took a look at where the olive oil is processed and enjoyed the spectacular views from the castle tower. There was no obligation to purchase but we did leave with a beautiful bottle of wine (which we brought back to australia to celebrate our recent engagement) and some bottles of olive oil which made perfect gifts for family back home. The Tuscan landscape is just divine and there are endless photo ops throughout the day. On the tour we had the most amazing 3 course lunch along with two more glasses of wine. Water is offered with all of the wine tastings and at lunch.During the day we sampled a selection of three beautiful local sheep cheeses and some local shaved meats. All were delicious!! We had an opportunity to stroll around Greve without our guides, the perfect time to purchase souvenirs or grab a coffee. At the 2nd vineyard we visited where we able to stand amongst the vines while our guide Stefano explained to us all about how the grapes are grown and made into wine, the history of winemaking, the difference between Chianti Classico wines and Super Tuscan wines etc . it really was a learning experience. Both guides taught us how to taste a wine and look for different tastes/smells and characteristics within the wines. I'm not sure I was able to do this very well but I had fun trying! It was interesting 2 sample some wines with bread and others with chocolate and see how this changed the taste. I highly recommend this picturesque, wonderful, tasty, informative tour.
This tour was amazing, worth every penny. It was a wonderful leisurely day in Tuscany in a small group. We wined and dined all day long. Chris was our guide. He was very passionate about the wine, food, and lifestyle in Tuscany. He was born in Italy, went to college in the United States, and now currently lives in Italy. He could easily relate to both US and Italian traditions.
This tour was amazing and so personal with a private driver/van .
The tour guide was fantastic and knew a lot about the district and the wine industry an expert really.
The wine , food and cheese just bliss .
Ohhh How can I forget the beautiful landscapes and hospitality at the wineries .
This tour was one of the best things we did during our time in Florence. Stefano, our tour guide, was amazing! He has a real passion for Tuscany - for it's wine, food and beautiful landscapes - and his passion is contagious. There is so much in this tour and it is worth every penny you pay. We have already recommended it to friends and family (even some of our friends you live around Florence). It is a great day out and you won't regret doing it.
i highly, highly recommend this wonderful Chianti tour! It is a smaller group of people making the day very pleasant and relaxed. This was definitely heightened because of our wonderful tour guide, Chris. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and made the day just that extra bit special. We were originally planning to do the cheaper version of this tour, but we are so glad we chose to spend a few more $$ and went with this tour. The cheeses and wines are amazing, and the lunch is absolutely phenomenal. Worth every cent!
This tour was terrific! The food and wine was tremendous. We sampled 9 wines, 3 cheeses, olive oil, meats and had a three course lunch overlooking beautiful Tuscan vineyards. Our guide, Chris, was excellent. He was very knowledgable about the area and the wine making process. Highly recommend!
I had a fantastic time on this tour. Because it's a relatively new offering, there were only two other people in the group with me, which led to an all-around great day. Our guide, Chris, knew his wines, cheeses, and the regional history, was engaging, and (especially because of the small group size) made it very easy to ask questions and slightly bend the timing of the tour if we particularly liked a view (or a wine!)... On our particular day, we got to sample a few more than the advertised seven wines -- but even if we hadn't, it was a great day.
This was awesome. Totally worth the money! I had a blast traveling through Tuscany. Chris was our tour guide and he was so great! I loved the fact that he was completely familiar with both American and Italian culture! His passion for Chianti, Tuscany, and wine in general made the experience even better, instead of having a boring tour guide. I encourage anyone who is passionate about food and wine to take this tour!
Loved the tour! We learned so much and our guide, Sabrina was wonderful! :) I would highly recommend l.
It was a most informative and enjoyable tour. Stefan and Uri both went out of their way to ensure everyone had an enjoyable time. Will certainly recommend it!!
This was one of our favorite days in Italy! Stefano, our guide, was knowledgeable and passionate about wine. Learning about olive oil and the cheeses and meats for snacks were great bonuses. Lunch at the farm/winery was fantastic. We didn't really need the extra time in Greve but it didn't take away from the day.
The tour was amazing! We thoroughly every moment of it. The two wineries visited were excellent and the place we had lunch was sensational! The tour guide, Stefano was so informative, knowledgeable and fun---absolutely superb! We will recommend this tour!
