    SILVER SPRINGS ATTRACTIONS

Glass Bottom Boats offer passengers an unparalleled view of underwater life in the 99.8 percent pure waters of the Silver River. World famous Glass Bottom Boats were invented at Silver Springs in 1878 and these vessels take guests on an enchanting tour of the seven major spring formations at the headwaters of the Silver River, including Mammoth Spring, the world's largest artesian limestone spring.

Lost River Voyage transports guests back in time to wild Florida as it was thousands of years ago -- untouched and untamed. Cypress trees line the banks of the river where alligators, turtles and waterfowl and other wildlife thrive. Naturalists at a wildlife outpost, home to many injured and rehabilitating animals that were rescued or brought to the park, talk about Silver Springs' wildlife rehabilitation and breeding programs.

Fort King River Cruise carries passengers through Silver Springs' 10,000 year history. Interactive exhibits and displays include an archaeological dig site, Seminole village, Fort King, riverboat dock and train depot, Florida Cracker homestead and a movie set.

The Lighthouse Ride stands near the headwaters of the Silver River and features the combination of a carousel and gondola ride with a unique telescoping outer tower that quietly rises 80 feet above Silver Springs. Up to six passengers ride in each gondola for an unobstructed, panoramic view of Silver Springs, the crystal clear Silver River and the area's abundant bird life, fish and other animals.

Wilderness Trail carries passengers deep into one of Florida's primeval forests aboard jeeps and trams. Guests can view and photograph a wide variety of native and exotic animals found within the 35-acre habitat.

Big Gator Lagoon is a one-acre cypress swamp habitat featuring more than two dozen of Florida's largest alligators averaging 11 to 13 feet in length. Guests observe these large reptiles from the safety of an elevated boardwalk.

Historical Showcase is a salute to Silver Springs' 125 anniversary as "Florida's Original Attraction" in 2003 and located just inside the park's main entrance. The facility features a series of displays and exhibits highlighting Silver Springs' 10,000-year natural history including fossils of prehistoric animals, Native American artifacts, archive photographs of the 1800s riverboat era, background of the Glass Bottom Boat, and a collection of early promotional memorabilia and brochures. Plus, Silver Springs' extensive history in the cinema is featured with displays of movie props, posters, publicity photographs, original underwater cameras and clips of the many films and TV shows shot at the springs over the years.

Kids Ahoy! Playland features a replica of an 1800s riverboat permanently anchored in a shallow lagoon. Activities include a 40-passenger carousel, miniature motorboats, ferris wheel, cargo climb with net bridge, slides, crawl tubes, fireman's poles and more.

Overlook Rock Garden is a botanical home to more than 138 varieties of delicately manicured plants, flowers and trees lined in Florida field stone.

Kritter Korral Petting Zoo features a variety of deer, goats, pot-bellied pigs, miniature horses and other animals that park guests can pet and feed.

"Florida Natives" features a collection of native snakes, turtles, arachnids, otters and other animals found in Florida. The exhibit also showcases an historical display of the famous Ross Allen Reptile Institute, a key in-park attraction at Silver Springs for more than half a century.

    SHOWS

"Wings of the Springs" offers two daily bird shows:

    • Birds of Prey show highlights the strength and beauty of hawks, eagles, owls, falcons and vultures in a dramatic free flight demonstration.

    • Birds of the Rain Forest show includes comical parrots, macaws and cockatoos performing zany antics and tricks. Thousands of hours of patience and training have transformed these vivid jungle creatures into nature's entertainers.

"Reptile Show" features reptile handlers that give an exciting and educational presentation on alligators, crocodiles, turtles and other cold-blooded animals.

"Non-Venomous Snake Show" offers guests the opportunity to view, touch and become educated about the many different species of snakes in the world, and the important role they play in controlling rodents and other pests.

"Creature Feature" showcases some of the scariest denizens of the dark. Three television monitors bring the smallest of these creatures to an up-close and personal view. Animal handlers point out interesting facts about bats, scorpions, arachnids, a five-pound marine toad and giant Madagascar hissing cockroaches.

"World of Bears" and "Panther Prowl" educational presentations provide park guests with facts on each animal's natural habitat, conservation programs and natural history.

Alligator and crocodile feedings presented daily at 2:30 p.m. (during warm summer months). Reptile keepers conduct the feedings that provide guests with the chance to witness the feeding habits of various alligator and crocodile species while learning more about these ancient creatures.

Fantastic Fountains Water Show features 1,000 water nozzles that produce a dazzling variety of water features that jump, dance and twirl on cue to a musical score of patriotic songs and hits of the '50's.

    WILD WATERS ATTRACTIONS

Wave Pool - The 180-foot fan-shaped Wave Pool holds 450,000 gallons of water with depths of three inches to eight feet. Electric motors create four-foot waves which diminish to ripples at the shallow end of the pool. Ten minutes of wave action alternates with ten minutes of calm water. The pool can accommodate 600 people. Surrounding lounge chairs and sun decks can accommodate an additional 600 people.

Cool Kids Cove - Wild Waters' "Cool Kids Cove" is a one-acre children's play area with a nautical theme. Centered in a shallow wading pool and lagoon, it's a multi-level fun zone that encourages children to explore its many slides and hands-on games. On board play elements include a large net bridge, water cannons, slides, and working valves and levers that children can play with to create new waterfalls and spouts.

Mini Monster - This short and gentle waterslide is a flume experience for the park's smaller guests.

Tad-Pool - A free-form wading pool for young tots. The area has novelty fountains and water animal rides. It's enriched by broad sun decks with lounges and chairs.

The Silver Bullet - A 220-foot long racing flume that transforms riders into racers.

Hurricane - The Hurricane boasts 400-foot twin flumes of thrashing wild water, including an 80-gallon blast at the turbo chargers station mid-way through the ride. Two tunnels keep riders in the dark for the final 120 feet until they splash down in a pool at the end of each flume.

Bunyan's Bend - A winding flume ride that carries passengers through the branches of a grove of majestic oaks and ends with a splash in the pool at the bottom.

Osceola's Revenge - Slide down this exciting water slide through two figure "8"-shaped flumes.
