We had an excellent time. The guide Mr. Peter was very informative. Thanks.
even though it was a long drive, but it was worth the ride. The trip was very nice and enjoyed every place we visited.Nice History and nice scenery, even though I would prefer that we had a better car so the trip will be more comfortable. The guide was exceptional and helpful and informative. He didn't spare any effort to show us all key points.
A fantastic day trip from Frankfurt. Though a full on itinerary, it was well planned out and covered the best bits of the region. Our guide Peter was excellent, his expertise, knowledge and helpful recommendations made the tour a really memorable one. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Highly recommended. Beautiful. Don't forget to taste Black Forest Cake. Strasbourg France is a must. Very charming city. Good commendation for tour co.
Yes it is a long tour but well worth the time. Peter, our guide, was really a pleasure. He was well spoken and an excellent driver. Beautiful sights
Fabulous tour and fabulous tour guide! A must do tour in Germany!
Of my three Viatar trips, this was my favorite (all were fantastic). I was on vacation on business in Brussels and had limited time to vacation in Europe on a travel, tour, and travel schedule. The trip into France, the Black Forest and other locations along the way was fantastic. Lucky to be a part of a small tour of four with a great tour guide who spoke perfect English and was very freindly. Lunch in the Black Forest by a lake, REAL Black Forest Cake. Beautiful picture post card views, opportunities to relax and grab lunch and tour locally. Highly recommended; as well as my tour in Switzerland to the Alps and from Brussels to Luxembourg
I thought that this was an excellent tour in most aspects. We were in a group of 6, so it felt as if we got to see more than if we had been in a group. In a small town in France we went on a boat tour that was slightly over an hour long. It was quite informative. However, it was hot so I recommend going on the closed top boat. We went into Baden Baden and had some Black Forest Cake. However, that is all that we did there. We were not given time to walk around. We also didn't get to walk into the Black Forest. All in all I would give this 4 1/2. They should add an extra hour and allow a short trip into the Black Forest, and a short alone time in Baden Baden.
Wonderful trip as we manage to experience a variety of places in a day. The guide was excellent too and as there were only the two of us we can explore at our own convenience.
We had a great tour with a wonderful guide. Only one problem - we wanted more time! Thanks for everything; hope to return someday.
Great tour but a lot of driving. Strasbourg is a beautiful city and the Notre Dame of Strasbourg can't be missed. The Black Forest is beautiful and certainly worth a visit.
I nearly missed out on this tour as another party cancelled, leaving just me. Luckily a man from Bangladesh on a day free from business turned up and the tour owner kindly allowed the tour to go ahead. From the moment our driver Peter had us seated in our comfortable private car the day was amazing. As the weather was unsettled the tour was taken in reverse to avoid the rain.. Everything about the tour was interesting, enjoyable and varied. It's a long journey but it's a great way to see and experience so much in one day. Strasbourg was beautiful and the river cruise very informative . It was lovely getting to stroll around the markets and tour inside Notre Dame. We couldn't see anything in the Black Forest drive past the edges of the forest due to fog and rain but that just added to the atmosphere. The cake and quaint cuckoo clocks in the café oozed charm and the souvenir shop had lots of choice. Baden Baden was such a surprise with historical buildings and upmarket shops standing side by side. The casino and spa were highlights of the town. I look back on this day tour with gratitude - to share it with the passionate guide Peter and my Bangladeshi companion was an added bonus.
Started this from lovely Heidelberg. Our excellent guide was Peter.
The group of 7 was very comfortable in a lovely van.
I absolutely loved the atmostphere and beauty of the Black Forest area!
Also Strasbourg was a highlight of the day.
Loved the sights, shopping and boat trip.
This was the quality tour I had hoped for.
I will use Viator again in future travels!
Thanks! Marion from Canada
A must go. Peter drove us passing nice vineyard, seeing villages in black forest, very beautiful and quite. Strasbourg was excellent, nice boat ride. Don't miss this tour.
Great day trip. We had a fantastic day. Only a small group (4 of us) and Peter, our guide was wonderful. He was professional yet personable. He was very knowledgeable about the region and explained many things to us about the local history and culture. Peter is an excellent and capable driver, this is quite a long distance trip and I felt very safe with him at the wheel. Initially, we were a bit reluctant to spend the money for this day trip but it turned out to be the most enjoyable day we had during our 3 weeks in Europe. Well worth what it costs. I will remember this day for a long time to come, especially the Strasbourg Boat Cruise, the Black Forest Cake and the Cuckoo Clocks!
This was an excellent tour. I was expecting to travel by a large bus but actually we were only 4 people, myself and my wife and two other tourists. The trip was very enjoyable. I would like to especially appreciate the guide cum driver. The person was a real gentle man and tried his level best to keep the tourists informed and happy. I really enjoyed the tour.
They both are beautiful place, especially Strasbourg! The scenery is a little different from other city in Germany. What a nice trip!
I highly recommend this tour. Strasbourg is wonderful. In the plaza next to the boat landing, 2 young men were playing saxophones. If you are a photo nut like me, I suggest sitting in the middle to the back of the boat. It does not matter which side. The cathedral is breath-taking. It would be nice to have more time to walk around Strasbourg though. I enjoyed the Black Forest - I only wish we could have walked through it to truly experience the "blackness." I do recommend walking around the lake. It only takes a few minutes. I wish we had had more time here also but Strasbourg was awesome.
Let me tell you about our tour guide Peter. WHAT a Gentlemen!! Our tour was very small and he treated us like he enjoyed his job and that we were his family and he wanted us to have a great time! Baden Baden, the Black Forest and Strasbourg was a very interesting trip because each place was so unique and completely different from one another. We had such a wonderful great day. I would recommend this tour to everyone!
What a wonderful tour! Everything was way beyond our wildest expectations. We were lucky to get a private tour, since noone else was booked that day. Our guide Peter was the nicest tour guide we've ever had, and made every moment special. Baden-Baden is an amazingly special little town, one of those you can't believe exist. And the Strasbourg tour between the lakes was magical. I recommend it to everyone who visits Germany.
This was an excellent tour. It was only a group of 6 so it was like a private tour. The van was very comfortable which was key as there is a lot of driving. Baden-Baden is really beautiful and provided a quick visit - would love to go back and spend more time. The Black Forest was enjoyable and there was time to eat Black Forest Cake - definitely recommend. Strasbourg is just lovely with a cathedral that will take your breath away. Our tour guide was wonderful - very friendly, knowledgeable and made for an enjoyable day.
I really enjoyed this tour, there was much too see and the time went by so quickly. The trip started with a trip through the spa town of Baden-Baden. We briefly went into the Casino, walked some of the streets, saw the hot waster source and it was time to return to the car. I wish we had some time to look into the stores and explore a bit on our own. The drive to the black forest was beautiful, we were lucky to not have fog during the drive. We stopped at a sad tourist trap and mediocre hotel. The Lake which was frozen when we visited was not much to see and the waitress in the restaurant was not very pleasant. I would have much preferred to have the 45 minutes allotted to visit this stop changed to our stop in Baden-Baden.
Strasbourg was an amazing stop. The city was beautiful, the cathedral breath taking. I could have spent the day here, exploring the streets, restaurants and shops. The weather was beautiful and everyone in town was outside enjoying the sunshine. The only down side of this trip was that the melting snow had made the level of the water in the river rise so high the boat tour was not operating. This probably allowed us the time to explore on our own so I am not that sad.
The tour guide, Peter, was an excellent guide, very informative, knowledgeable and pleasant. He found us a parking place everywhere we went which was an amazing feat in Strasbourg.
A sandwich and drink were provided by the tour, if I were going again, I would pack a snack and bring another drink. The walking was lengthy but not difficult and the temperature changed dramatically from stop to stop.
All in all, I was very glad I took this trip and look forward to my next Viator Tour.
