This was a long day as we were on the Romantic Road bus most of the time but of course Germany was beautiful even on a freezing cold summer's day!

Rothenburg is a fantastic medieval town and well worth the visit. On the way we had short stops at a few towns but bus driver didn't tell us what we were looking at. On the return trip we had a different bus driver and he was quite informative. At Rothenburg we had an 1 1/2 walking tour with a guide. She was quite informative. Would have loved to have spent a lot more time in the area.

It was cheaper than full-guided-tour and we enjoyed the trip. Tour bus stops very quickly at several places before arrivng lovely Rothenburg. Rothenburg was good old town to visit as well.

When I received my package of info and it said 'unaccompanied' tour I was afraid it was just bus transportation. I didn't realize the bus driver would narrate the trip and that we would stop at small towns along the way. Rothenburg was great and well worth the trip. Four hours was not nearly enough time to spend there but if you only have one day to spend this is a great way to do it.

Rothenburg was worth seeing, beautiful!! We were NOT impressed with the driver, he played up to the young Japanese girls, he was rude and abrupt to one of the men on the bus and he didn't head count which resulted in leaving behind an elderly lady. If it was not for a passenger noticing her bag we would have kept driving. As it was we were a mile away and the driver left 2 minutes earlier then he said. The driver tried to blame the lady. So all this was uncomfortable. We did not like the long 4 hour drive there and back as we spent a lot of time picking up and dropping off other people. Over all ok

The tour was great, and the stops, except for the thimble museum were well worth it. The bus drivers, however, were complete jerks. I would recommend the sites but not this touring company. The bus driver left us at the first stop after we were two minutes late. Only after one of the other guests complained did he return for us. On the way back, the company did not put our name down and the bus driver almost left us in Rothenburg. Do not use this touring company.

We enjoyed the time we spent in Rothenburg. It is truly a beautiful little town filled with character. However, the trip there and back to Frankfurt was not very enjoyable. We rode on a full sized bus with only 10 or so people. It made a few long stops which really made the trip drag out. The driver spoke very little English and we were not sure what was really going on. Be sure to go to Rothenburg, but you might want to find another way to get there!

Not quiet what i expected. The tour takes you down the "romantic route" and stops very quickly at a few cities along the way and then ends in Rothenburg. Rothenburg is lovely but not a must see if time is limited.

Not worth the money. It was not a direct route. We spent valuable time picking up people and dropping them off at shopping center.Need to have someone else besides a driver to point out the sites;he needed to just concentrate more on the road. Made us nervous. The 20min tour of that one palace w/garden AND toilet stop was ridiculous. The local guide in Rothenburg was excellent.
