Very informative trip. Sorry that it was only half day. The guide was full of character, quite pleasant, funny, and very respectful of one's time. Extremely knowledgeable. I would definitely do it again.
Our tour guide was Thomas and we thought him knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Heidelberg is a great destination, definitely worth a visit for those staying in Frankfurt. We toured both the nearby castle as well as a the town, both were terrific. The drive to and from was enjoyable, that was our only time to experience the famed German autobahn. Although we might have preferred transportation in the left lane via a Mercedes AMG S-Class sedan, the tourist minibus was just fine a couple of lanes to the right. So we have nothing but good things to say!

LOVED this tour. We got stuck in traffic on the way out so we didn't get as much time in the city most was spent in/at the castle, but it was beautiful. The sandwiches they served - i did not like, but that is really a minor grievance. Out tour guide was FANTASTIC! This was the first time I used Viator to book an excursion and I'm so glad I did. If you are a fan of architecture and history, this tour is right up your ally.
We were only four people in the Minibus and they didn't cancel the tour, our guide was very sympathic and joyfull. He was a great guy. Thanks a lot for this trip, just looking forward to others...
Great tour. Our guide was very entertaining and informative. The castle and the city is a must see when in Germany!
The trip was well worth it. The driver was on time and very knowledgeable - spoke English. Heidelberg is very beautiful and picturesque. The 1/2 day tour is mainly the castle, although we had time to look around the city itself which was nice.
The transportation was comfortable, and roomy. The Tour Guide was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. Heidelberg is gorgeous and a must see tour.
we had an afternoon tour and there were only the three of us so it was like a private tour. the quaint little town heidelberg is very nice if you want to have a feel of the old germany. it's really one experience one shouldn't miss. our driver/tour guide peter, was great and even gave us a surprise at the end of the tour. he even dropped us off at our hotel even if it was not included in the package :
The trip to Heidelberg was fantastic! Our guide did an excellent job of entertaining and educating us about the history of Germany and Heidelberg in particular. I would recommend this trip to anyone.....Laura Davidson, Dallas, Texas
Heidelberg is amazing and wonderful! Our guide is so hilarious and knowledgeable! Is a must visit!
Loved it, beautiful, scenic, and our Driver/ Guide, was very helpful.
Only negative, I would spend a whole day next time instead of 1/2 a day.
Was very enjoyable.
great value for the money.
free time to have lunch
The tour was fantastic! My family took the half-day afternoon tour and we ended up getting a private tour. George, our guide was really great; very knowledgable and funny. What a beautiful town. I would highly recommend this tour.
No trip to Frankfurt is complete without a day trip to Heidelberg! This was a very beautiful castle, even though it rained. We were shown the world's largest wine barrel, which was quite amusing! Anyone who likes history would enjoy the tour, as we learned some great facts.
My wife and I had an amazing time. We loved our driver Oliver. He was very knowledgeable. Vehicle was clean. The sights were amazing with a small group of people. Very enjoyable. A must do tour if you are in the area and have time to spare. Will do it again!!
Heidelberg is what I think of when I think of Germany. Very picturesque, charming and romantic. Highly recommend this tour!!
Heidelberg is a beautiful city and the castle overlooking the town is of historic significance. The tour guide we had spoke very clear English, was very knowledgeable, and ran the tour at a pace that allowed plenty of time to take pictures. Our tour took place on a very hot day (95F) and we were very grateful that the bus carried with it a supply of mineral water bottles sufficient for everyone to quench their thirst. The tour even supplied us with a snack of decent sandwichs. Overall I think we got a great tour at a fair price.
This was an incredible tour of beautiful Castle Heidelberg. Peter our driver/tour guide was perfect. We were not prepared for the luxury service and attention we received. We assumed we'd be riding in a crowded bus with a gaggle of loud tourists (we are quiet tourists), but were astonished to realize we were being chauffeured in a private auto. Peter was knowledgeable and accommodating. He didn't rush us and actually seemed to be on the tour with us (but with vastly more information!). He was even patient when we lost track of time and ended up being a bit late meeting back up with him after our dinner extended beyond our agreed upon meet up time. To top it all off, he returned us to our doorstep at our lodging! Again we assumed we'd have to find our own way back after the conclusion of the tour. Please take this trip and hope you get Peter (I'm sure someone else would be wonderful, but we are now biased).
We had the most wonderful guide. He was informative and funny and very knowledgeable. Heidelberg itself is quaint and charming and stunningly beautiful. There was more than enough time to take everything in and we had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Very enjoyable trip. Pick up point in Frankfurt was only a 5 min walk from my hotel so it was a convenient location. Guide was quite friendly and I was lucky that when I went on the trip it was a nice sunny day. Heidelberg is a very attractive place and it was good to start at the castle followed by a walk over the old bridge and a look at an old church. There was a couple of hours of free time at the end and a bonus in December was being able to look at the Christmas market. I would have liked a bit more time at the castle but, on the whole, this was a well organised trip and very enjoyable.
