What You Can Expect
Following pickup at your Grand Bahama hotel, board your vehicle for the short ride to visit Lucayan National Park on a less crowded part of Grand Bahama.
Walk through the vibrant tropical park, viewing a myriad of native birds in the trees and colorful fish in the lagoons. Visit Gold Rock Beach, accessible by wooden boardwalk, to enjoy the sugar-soft white sand and gentle waves lapping the beach. Simply relax or beachcomb, looking for driftwood and unusual shells, enjoying the peace and quiet that comes with escaping the busy area around Freeport.
This park is home to one of the longest explored underwater cave systems in the world. Encompassing 42 acres (17 hectares,) this park includes five different ecological zones. Visit the caves where the island's Arawak Indians lived before Columbus' discovery of the Bahamas.
After approximately 5 hours of exploring this off-the-beaten-path attraction, your guide will return to your hotel.
Great way to spend a vacation day. We were picked up at our resort by a driver who was both friendly and knowledgeable. He gave information about all of the areas we drove through and also gave lots history about the area. Wear comfortable shoes since Ben's Cave at the national park has lots of steps. Bring a beach towel because you're going to want to get in the water at Gold Rock Beach, a rather secluded beach with water color so pretty it's hard to describe. Walking to the beach is its own adventure. Most people walked out to the sand bar and played there and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. After leaving this beach, the tour stops at another beach with a restaurant for lunch. The food is OK and it's another chance to enjoy some beach time.
The caves were alright but the beach was amazing! Stopped for lunch at a cute restaurant with the best banana bread!
The best part of our vacation - Highly recommended - The tour guide was prompt in picking us up from the hotel, and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Park. The weather was perfect at 78 degrees. The beach was clean! The ocean water was so blue, clear and cool! I was so sad when it was time to leave.
This is the best beach ever!! Clean, and its where pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. Very awesome, a must see!!
Amazing time on the beach! Some of the most spectacular beaches I've ever been to :)
This tour is awesome . We learned a lot .Biggie was an excellent instructor and driver. He told us about the island and the history of the island. Its worthy the $50. the beaches are clear blue . You visit 2 beaches and 2 caves . Beautiful sight.
Kevin, the tour guide and driver was fantastic. He was funny and interesting. We got a good over view of Freeport. The Lucayan park beach was the best. It was soooooo clear and white sand. The walk around the park was very relaxing. I would take this tour again and highly recommend that anyone who is out doorsy take this tour.
It was great! We really enjoyed the gold rocks beach!
Very Educational Biggie was the best and the staff at Forbes H Charter knew their stuff. We left knowing a lot more about the island of Grand Bahama and the city of Freeport.
We called the previous day to confirm the 9am pickup and was told the pickup time would be 10am. The driver arrived shortly after 10. The East End excursion was very nice and informative.
