Visit the 'Jewel of the Middle Ages' - Rothenburg Ob der Tauber (Rothenburg above the Tauber). A picturesque city, located 425 meters above sea level, on a plateau at the intersection of the Romantic and Castle Roads, this once free imperial city is one of Germany's most frequented towns. The Tauber River flows below the town in a valley 180 feet (55 meters) deep.

Day 1: Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Frankfurt
Depart Frankfurt and start your tour with a half-day trip to Heidelberg, the old university town at the banks of the Neckar River, including a visit of the inner courtyard of the castle. After returning to Frankfurt, the rest of the day in free for you to explore on your own.
Overnight: InterCityHotel or similar.
Day 2: Frankfurt - Rothenburg (B)
Depart from Frankfurt for a picturesque drive through the Spessart mountains to Wuerzburg, on the banks of the river Main. Continue on the Romantic Road to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany’s well-preserved 'Jewel of the Middle Ages' with its ramparts, city gates, town hall and Jakobskirche (church). The altar was created by the famous wood-carver Tilmann Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg, a taxi will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon or evening please join the city walk with a local guide or the historic Night Watchman in Rothenburg.
Overnight: Hotel Breiterle or similar.
Day 3: Rothenburg - Hohenschwangau (B)
After breakfast, a taxi will meet you at your hotel and take you to the bus stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing such picturesque places as Dinkelsbuehl, Noerdlingen and Donauwoerth, with high-gabled houses and cobbled-stone streets. Via Augsburg, a metropolis during the Roman times and famous for old trade dynasties during the Middle Ages, you reach Hohenschwangau in the evening.
Overnight: Hotel Muller or similar.
Day 4: Hohenschwangau - Munich (B)
In the morning your tickets for Neuschwanstein Castle will be waiting for you at your hotel's front desk. Visit the famous 'Cinderella Castle', built by King Ludwig II before concluding your tour in Munich at approximately 7:00pm.
