It is a tour I would definitely recommend to anyone going to Gran Canaria. But it is definitely not for the people who get sea sick easily. Especially if the weather at sea is rough. One thing to bare in mind is that, the tour is primarily for dolphin watching. no whales and other marine species. In addition to that the weather at sea plays a very decisive role in all of this. We had the trip rescheduled thrice before we finally got to go on the trip. One also needs to be very patient. The trip is scheduled for 2.5 hours. In our case, we had been roaming out at sea for about 1.5 hours searching for dolphins. The only means for finding the dolphins is one pair of binoculars that the crew carries on board. But I must say that the crew is pretty good at their job. Though I think leveraging the many zoom cameras with the guests on board would have been a more optimal use of all the hardware on board, I do also agree that everyone is not the dolphin spotter type. I did my part while I was there. And when almost everybody including the crew had given up, they showed up as a surprise. Though the dolphins were around for about 5-7 minutes only, it was a great experience. The owner of the boat and excursion, is a fantastic guy. Very accommodating and always ready to help. It is only because of him that we didn't decide to cancel the excursion even after it was rescheduled thrice due to weather. In all, it's a one of a kind trip that I would recommend to everyone. Worth the money if you get to see the dolphins.

Very rough ride and NO dolphins or whales were seen. It lasts about 2 hours, so is a good deal for the price, but very boring to be bobbing along with no sea life to observe. Comfortable bus picked us up at our hotel and was waiting when we came off the boat.
