What a great experience! We took the train from Williams, AZ on New Years Day with our four children (ages 15, 17, 19, and 20). They LOVED it! The train ride was perfect (we opted for first class which was really nice especially with the drinks and snacks provided). Mimi took great care of us and the entertainers were really fun. The bus tour of the Grand Canyon was a wonderful way to spend the few hours we had there and was well worth the money. It was an awesome trip, and we would highly recommend it!
A great trip from start to finish, we had a VERY informative guide who really knew his stuff. there was plenty of time at each stop to enjoy the views and take pictures. as we were a small group we didn't have a buffet as such we just had whatever food we required from the food court which was alll good. the train was comfortable and the entertainment made the time go by. i would recommend this trip to anyone.
The experience on the train was very enjoyable. Our car hosts were very entertaining and knowledgeable and made the trip interesting.
Our tour guide was Amber Rose and she was excellent. Made the whole experience wonderful
for not only my group but everyone else on the train was very impressed with her knowledge and
fun loving personality. She is excellent!!!
We loved it. The train was so comfortable. Our conductor was very informative and we loved the
entertainment on the train coming and going.
Loved this tour! We booked first class, as well as the coach tour. Train was very comfortable and fun, while the bus tour was informative, comfortable and easy. Plenty of time to look at the canyon. Would recommend this to everyone!
Everything turned out wonderful. The train trip was definitely the way to travel to the Grand Canyon. Our granddaughters enjoyed it thoroughly and even remarked that "the trip to the Grand Canyon" was the highlight of their trip to Arizona. The tour bus operator was excellent and kept us well informed and amused on our tour of the Grand Canyon . I would highly recommend this as a great way to sit back and relax and enjoy the Grand Canyon.
This was by far one of the best tour trips I have taken. The friendliness of the Railway staff and helpfulness is amazing. The TSA workers Pam at the ticket counter and Kathy on the train where awesome. I would highly recommend this adventure to all. In fact, I'm planning my next trip to the south west rim.
Everyone went out of there way to help and assist those with handicaps.
The passenger car temperature was good. The buffet at lunch was good; sufficient variety. The staff member (PSA) who stayed in our passenger car, as well as the tour bus driver, were knowledgeable, personable, polite, made me laugh, engaging, helpful, friendly, well groomed, and very professional. The live music was great. The speed of the train along the tracks was perfect so pictures weren't blurred and you didn't get dizzy trying to look at things. The train robbery was a fun little thing. The view of the canyon was amazing and weather cooperated. The overall length of the tour was appropriate; perhaps 1 more hour up at the canyon. I will strongly recommend the this tour package to anyone I know who is going to the canyon!
Well worth the money. Excellent experience. Went with two kids, 11 and 8, they loved it. Saw all kinds of wildlife on the trip.
Great and relaxing way to see the Grand Canyon, train trip is excelent, no driving so able to take in all the scenery and the staff are all very helpful and informative. Would certainly recommend the trip.
We took this trip from the historic Williams train station to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and it was fantastic. The Williams train station has old trains in it, and there is an entertaining "gun fight" before the trip.
Once aboard we were treated to snacks and fruit (very fresh) as well as soda and water. There are adult beverages available also. Each train car has an escort aboard that explains where we are and tells stories about the history of the train route. During the trip there are entertainers that travel from car to car playing music, telling stories and jokes. On the way back the train is "robbed" by bandits on horseback that also goes through all the cars pretending to be mean, but not pulling it off very well, in a good way.
Once at the South Rim we took a bus tour that took us to all the hottest overlooks, many without barricades so there was a lot of joking about taking pictures of people and not listening if they tell you to "just take another step back".
The train ride was a lot of fun, hearing all the stories and learning about the terrain we were passing through was very cool. I think this is a great way to get to the Grand Canyon and not having to worry about driving and parking.
