It was wonderful to do this tour simply because we did not have any time constraints or tour guides telling us what to do. The Grand Canyon is an absolute must to see if you are staying in Vegas, and this tour is the perfect way to see it. We got picked up from our hotel at about 8:30 a.m. and taken to the office, where we were given the car and instructions on how to get there. Once at the Canyon, you park the car and jump on the shuttle which takes you around. The Grand Canyon is breathtaking and not to be missed. Do Hoover Dam on the way back to avoid the crowds. Pros: (1) The luxury of doing what you want when you want. (2) You get to keep the car for a good 24 hours for cruising the Strip afterwards.(3) The drive was very stress-free, and it was easy to get there. (4) You do about 40 miles of dirt road, which the SUV handled superbly. (5) If you can afford it, do the helicopter flight, river cruise and Skywalk -- they're definitely well worth it. (6) The bottled water and cooler bag was a nice touch. Cons: (1) The company hires the cars from Hertz, so their operating hours depend on Hertz's so early starts like 7 a.m. which I had in mind were not possible. (2) You don't get a GPS like the description of the tour states -- no biggy, the mud map we were given sufficed, but maybe that should be changed on the fine print. (3) It is a bit pricey compared to other tours and there's an unfavourable exchange rate but again, if you can afford it, just do it. All in all, it was a stunning and memorable day made possible by a well organised and professional operator. Thanks again.

The drive to the Canyon was closer to Vegas than I thought -- only 2 1/2 hours. It was breathtaking. The helicopter ride was a blast, and the Escalade was very comfortable. Being able to schedule our own time at the stops was priceless to us! We all enjoyed the Skywalk and got some excellent photos.

We loved it. The only small hitch was that on Viator we booked a Hummer. On arrival they were going to give us a Jeep! We said we booked the hummer and within minutes they gave us one. This is the only way to see the Grand Canyon! Driving through the Joshua forrest was great. There really is nothing around for miles and miles. The 20-mile dirt track at the end was also an experience on its own. It is really easy to get to the Grand Canyon. You only use four roads. The helicopter ride was the best of all. You have to do this trip! We were picked up in an Escalade on time and the driver was very chatty. The host who explained the trip to us on arrival was also great. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

This was brilliant. We did not get a Hummer, but the Ford Escape we got was pretty good. It had cruise control and a big engine; you can't ask for more. This was a very easy and fun day out, and was worth the money. Do it.

This was amazing! We had a fantastic day in the Hummer. The only disappointment was being 24 -- I was not allowed to drive it (the young driver fee for under 25s does not apply to Brits), although my boyfriend seemed pretty pleased he had it all to himself! The drive was great, the landscape so different to anything we've seen before, and the dirt track was good fun! We did the skywalk, which wasn't planned but so worth doing! We stopped at the dam on the way home- Arizona side parking is free. It was great to see and speed limits were obvious throughout even though they changed quite dramatically! Overall we had fantastic day. It's just a shame the hummers aren't gonna be available much longer. I definitely recommend this!

The staff at the rental location were extremely nice. The driver who picked us up was a very nice man that I had a great conversation with. I really suggest the Hummer ride instead of bus tour; you can make your own schedule and stop wherever you want. The car was brand new. I absolutely loved it.

Fantastic. Great to get out and about and stop off to meet real Americans. It was very easy to get around Vegas and the car hire people were very helpful.

The self-drive Hummer tour to the Grand Canyon was fantastic! The freedom to go at your own pace and stop and explore along the way was great. I would definitely book this tour again and would highly recommend it.

Fantastic day, fantastic vehicle. Very helpful staff on vehicle pick up, giving you all the do's and dont's pertaining to the drive up to the canyon. Would advise anyone to start this day as early as possible, because you lose an hour when you get to the canyon because of the time difference. Still it was a great day out, and a different way of seeing the West Rim. True value for money.

I've never been to the West Rim of the canyon before and took advantage of the trip to go. The whole trip was a great experience and I highly recommend it!

This is a must if you are visiting Las Vegas, the highlight of our trip has got to be driving a H2 Hummer down the strip and then onto the Grand Canyon for an experience not to be missed, would recommend this to anyone. Brilliant.
