Rhodes is the biggest island in the Dodecanese complex situated in the Aegean Sea.

The Medieval City of Rhodes has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage City. The landscape varies from arid and rocky around the coast to lush and forested in the interior. The Old Town of Rhodes is contained within massive fortified walls and is the largest inhabited medieval town in Europe.

Day two will include a tour of both the Old Town and the New Town in which you will see such sights as picturesque Madraki Harbor, Monte Smith hill, the site of the ancient Hellenistic city of Rhodes, the magnificent Palace of the Grand Masters and much more.

Day 1: Athens - Rhodes
Tour departs at 8:00am from your Athens hotel, transferring to the Athens airport for a departure flight to Rhodes. Upon arrival at Rhodes airport you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Overnight at the Mediterranean Beach Hotel or similar

Day 2: Rhodes
After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a morning tour of Rhodes. The excursion includes a licensed Guide and private taxi. The tour will begin with a panoramic drive through the New Town, past Mandraki Harbor, the Post Office, Town Hall, Evangelismos and continues to the Monte Smith Hill which offers a magnificent view of the Aegean and the City of Rhodes.

Continue past the ancient Rhodes Acropolis dedicated to Zeus Polieus and onto Athena Polias and Pythian Apollo, of which four columns have been reconstructed and past the 2nd century BC ancient Stadium and Theatre, both of which have been restored. From here the excursion continues to the D'Amboise Gate of the Medieval City where the you will disembark and on foot visit the Grand Masters Palace, the most imposing building of medieval Rhodes. It was originally built in the 14th Century, but demolished by an explosion in 1856. It was restored in 1939, during the Italian occupation.

The Street of the Knights, which, in spite of the restoration of its buildings, has remained untouched by the passage of 500 years, since it was originally built in the 14th century. The Gothic order predominates. The Inns of the various 'Tongues' stand in a row, with impressive arched doorways, their emblems carved above them.

Day 3: Rhodes After breakfast at the hotel, the day is free to explore the island of roses. Its outstanding monuments of Ancient Byzantine and Medieval Greece are reminders of its turbulent history including the settlement of the Knights of St. John in the 13th century. In this idyllic setting, discerning travelers now find everything they need. Traditional Greek hospitality together with a cosmopolitan town life and sun-drenched beaches. Whether you choose to explore the island, relax by the tropical pools or join in the sports activities, one visit to Rhodes is never enough.

Day 4: Rhodes - Athens After breakfast at the hotel, an early afternoon departure transfer to the airport for embarkation on your flight to Athens airport, arriving at approximately 8:00pm
