Grenada Shore Excursion: Hop-On Hop-Off Trolley Tour
Board the hop-on hop-off trolley outside the Esplanade Mall; the trolley leaves every 45 minutes starting at 9am, with the last train at 3pm. As you pass by the major attractions, you’ll hear interesting commentary from your guide. Your first stop will be Fort George, established by the French in 1705. Climb up the hill to get a magnificent view of the town; you’ll see pastel-colored houses with red tiled roofs perched on green hills.
Next, hop back on the trolley, pass by the Summer House and get a panoramic view of the Carenage, an area known for its waterfront restaurants. Amble around the alleys, where you will find unique goods, such as spices, jams and other local treats.
The trolley will also stop at Grenada’s National Museum, where you can learn about the history of the country through its comprehensive collection of cultural artifacts. As the trolley winds around to Herbert Blaizes’ View Point, capture the beauty of the picturesque waterfront with your camera.
This shore excursion is a fun and convenient way to see St George’s at your own pace – hop on and off at any stop to have a closer look, and then re-board another trolley to continue your tour.
