Private Tour: Guayaquil Sightseeing with Optional Historical Park

City Tour of Guayaquil

Your friendly guide will meet you at your hotel and go over the day’s most important details before you embark on a private Guayaquil sightseeing tour with optional historical park stop. Visit Bolivar Park and learn about its history and significance from your guide, then wander through the busy streets and vast avenues of Guayaquil. See iconic statues like those of Saint Martin and Simon Bolivar in beautiful La Rotonda.

Next, check out the city’s most cherished neighborhood, with tasty restaurants, lively galleries and quaint shops that showcase beautiful handmade crafts. See why it’s as loved by travelers as it is by locals. Climb the towering staircase to Cerro Santa Ana (Santa Anna Hill), which puts travelers some 1,000 feet (300 meters) above sea level for truly incredible views of Guayaqiuil.

Finally, take a head to Malecon 2000, a scenic 1-mile (2.5-km) walkway that overlooks the famed Guayas River (Rio Guayas). Surrounded by ponds, playgrounds and monuments, it’s the perfect place to wander before heading back to Guayaquil.

We had a wonderful guide and driver. We wanted to change our itinerary a bit and it was no problem. Great tour.

We enjoyed this excursion. Our guide took us to a new pedestrian bridge on the water front for a good view as well as a view of the port activities which made Guayaquil what it is. She had us taken by the waterfront for an understanding of the city's origins as a trading centre. As we indicated we had to be back at hotel for our afternoon shuttle she adjusted time accordingly to our wished. Also we had already visited part of the intended itinerary so we didn't repeat some things in interest of time. She gave us a good tour of the Malecon start and finish and if we had wanted to we could have got out more and walked more if we wanted to. She took us up the hill steps to the lighthouse. We also had the tour of the historic park which was a good option. I would not recommend this tour without this addition as it explains the ecosystems, city history and is very worthwhile.
