Excellent Tour, it was a three and half hour trip to our boat but was well worth it when we got there. There were only six of us and Thoa our guide (seven crew also) on the boat and it was so much better than being on the other boats we saw with forty or more people on board. We enjoyed a lovely silver service lunch and then just wandered around the deck looking at the wonderful scenery. Thoa was very helpful answering our questions and I highly recommend the tour.
This trip was an amazing experience for me and my daughter. The small group made it more personal and everyone on the trip shared an amazing experience. The food on board the boat was excellent and the rew could not have been nicer. Our tour guide did an amazing job. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone. I have made some new friends as a result and found Halong Bay to be mystical and magical.
Excellent day. The long drive was worth the investment. Each part of the day was very interesting. Our guide was very good.
We had an absolutely unforgettable time. My husband and I had the whole boat with a crew of 6 to ourselves. Our guide was well versed in the history and was able to answer all the questions we asked. He kept the trip flexible enough to accommodate a visit to a souvenir shop on the way to Halong Bay and a pottery shop on the way back. It was raining but the mist only made the view more beautiful. The stop at an underground cave was equally memorable. Once again we had the whole place to ourselves with our guide showing us all the different formations. The food was divine. My husband unfortunately does not eat seafood while I love it. Our guide had managed to get a complete seafood meal for me while organising chicken for my husband. The crew were friendly and fulfilled our every wish including allowing my husband to take the controls for a while. I took so many pictures, the hardest part was deciding which ones to put on Facebook.
We had a fabulous day trip to Halong Bay. Small group tours are so much better as you don't waste time waiting for everyone. We had five on our trip and our guide was great, unfortunately we could not remember his name. Yes it takes 3 hours from Hanoi and part of the trip can be a little rough due to the road conditions, but it is soon forgotten when you see the spectacular scenery! The crew on the boat were very friendly and the lunch was fresh and delicious. The nicest part was the peacefulness of cruising the bay and especially having only 5 others on the boat, we felt like we had lots of space and the only tourists on the boat. We had limited time and were unsure as to whether it would be worth doing just a one day trip, but can happily recommend that it is worth it and we didn't feel rushed at any stage. We booked with Viator on the internet before we left and would thoroughly recommend this company.
Excellent trip, small group in a mini bus, and same group on boat to ourselves.
Halong Bay is a definite must see! Our tour guide Named Guong spoke very good english and was the best tour guide we've had in our Vietnam vacation. I can't speak enough of the Halong Bay scenery and the tour guide.
Absolutely the highlight of our Vietnam visit. An interesting and passionate guide who answered our many and varied questions not only about Halong Bay but also about Vietnamese life in general. The Bay and karsts are exquisitely beautiful, and the whole area, especially the inner lagoon hold a mystical atmosphere which is quite awesome.
Tour was great. We had the most amazing guide ever who was very helpful. There was only three of us on the tour so we had the boat to ourselves. Very relaxing!! This trip was definitely the highlight of my trip to Vietnam. Thanks.
Outstanding! It was a long day... Eight hours of driving but well worth it.. The meal which was served on the boat was amazing. Highly recommend!
The tour guide was friendly, accommodating and informative. The food on the boat was exceptional. The only flaw with the trip was the gloomy weather, but, of course, you have no control over that. LOL
We had the most amazing tour guide and enjoyed the tour thorughly.
Would recommend this tour as a must do when visiting Hanoi.
We have outstanding experience. Guide was very knowledgeable and very passion about the subject. I highly recommend this tour.
It was very interesting and pleasurable trip. Will definitely come back to Viator for other cruises!
What a beautiful part of the world!!! HALONG Bay did not disappoint and more than what I expected to see. There were only five of us in the tour and the whole boat to ourselves together with our very informative tour guide. The included lunch was Vietnamese cuisine and though not buffet as specified, was more than enough to satisfy your appetite. The trip to the cave was amazing!!! The cruise along Halong Bay was really something!!! A tour not to be missed!!!
My first experience with Viator couldn't be better. The tour was amazing, we were a very small group of 4 people and had a HUGE boat only for us! Food was great, the minivan was brand new and the guide was very helpful. Thumbs up for everything, I definitely recommend it!
Fantastic trip. Modern bus, great company from only other two travellers. Driver very competent. Guide great and very informative and friendly. Boat and crew most accommodating. Well worth it. My wife and I loved the day.
As there were no other bookings for that day, I have ended up having a private tour and the experience was great. The guide was very nice, knowledgeable and had good English. Well worth it.
It was a long day but worth it. Its amazing to see so many natural limestone rocks. We had already seen some in Krabi but not on this scale. Our guide for the day was able to share his knowledge about Halong bay and general life for a local Vietanmese person. it was grey and cloudy as we started the cruise which was disappointing however we were fortunate enough to have blue skies on the return leg of the cruise. I was also provided with a vegetarian lunch on my request and i have to say the food was lovely. There were only 5 of us on this big junk so we didnt need to fight over any space when taking our pics.
Excellent day trip with a good meal on board ship.
It's a long way from Hanoi but well worth it and stops half way there and back made the journey easier. The five other people on our journey made for a good trip and guide was most helpful and informative. The only downside were the toilets on board ship could have been a lot cleaner!
Very nice. Drive is tiring, but worth it when you are out on the water. Lunch was fresh and very good. A must see if you are in hanoi.
When I was picked up by the guide, hen then told me that I was the only person on today’s trip to Halong Bay , so instead of driving to Halong Bay on a big tour buss I then got a good SUV witch was nice and comfortable. On the way to Halong bay, my guide told me a lot about Vietnamese life and culture. It was nice to have a good one on one conversation with a local and the guide spoke very good English .
Arriving at Halong Bay the weather had now changed, it was now completely overclouded and foggy, that was really a bit off a bummer and I guess my guide could see the disappointment on my face, after all Halong Bay is one of the most beautiful places on this planet and the biggest tourist attraction Vietnam has to offer.
Again since I was the only person on today’s trip my guide and I got the hole tour boat for our self’s and that certainly wasn’t a bad thing and the lunch that we shared was simply just excellent.
I would like to say thank you to VIATOR for a great service and I would like to say an even bigger thank you to my guide who was just great and he excused about the weather over and over again, but as I also told him many times as well, we humans can control a lot of things, but we are not masters of the weather .
One last thing. when I go back to Vietnam and I will, I will then definitely book a Halong Bay tour with Viator again I only hope that the weather will be better but as said before, we humans are not masters of the weather ……..yet
