Top notch, excellent guide. Bus getting there was spacious. Food on the boat was also good. I couldn't recommend Indochina tours enough.
It was great wish it was longer.Great team every one of them .

It was kinda long drive but the beauty and serenity of Halong Bay is amazing. The cave we went into was breathtaking. My wife and I really enjoyed and given the chance to go back we'll stay over a night or two. Thanks to our guide.
This was a fantastic day! The drive from Hanoi takes about 3 hours but it is a good way to see the smaller towns and courtyside. In total, the day was about 10 hours. The boat was clean and had everything we needed on board including lounge chairs on the top to relax and take in the view. Lunch was fantastic with lots of variety and yummy food. I would recommend this trip as a good day trip for anyone not wanting to stay overnight in Halong Bay.
Amazing! Very friendly tour guide, highly recommeded to use VIATOR!
Wonderful day, absolutely beautiful and the tour guide was excellent.
We were picked up promptly from our hotel and driven approx. 3 hours to Halong Bay with a stop half way, going and coming back. The guide spoke excellent english and had a good sense of humour. She took us onto our junk which we had to ourselves and for the next 3 hours we sailed around the islands. We also had lunch on-board which was included and it was cooked fresh and dish after dish kept coming to the table. We were full afterwards and enjoyed the scenery for the rest of the cruise.
I would have loved for it to be longer, but for a one day trip it was an amazing experience and made me want to come back for more. The boat and staff were very nice, and the guide very friendly and informative. The driver was very nice about stopping for photo ops!
Our tour guide is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He shares a lot of do's and don't with us in hanoi. - cheap and good food in hanoi, type of scammers on the streets we need to be aware of, the beeping sound of the cars/bike on the road stands for alert and not being rude etc.
Also gets to know more about halong bay and the history behind it. My family and I truly enjoy his company.
Tour guide was great. I had the boat all to myself and I was the only person who signed up for the tour. The trip was perfect.
Long day on a one day tour. Great photos all along the way of rice paddies and small towns. Halong Bag was nice, but alas it rained! We did get some great photos of the mist, cave was outstanding. Lunch was delicious! Need to buy drinks on boat, but plenty available Stopped for break once on way to and way back. Nice things available if you want to purchase. Did not stay long! Small group made it nice. Wish the driver had stopped once along the way to take better photos of rice paddies and people/water buffalo at work. Ask as they may stop. Enjoyed the adventure...take a snack for the road!
This trip met all of my expectations. Read some complaints of length of time spent on the road traveling to/from Hanoi, but I enjoy seeing life outside of main cities on trips that I take. Boat portion of the trip itself was very pleasant. There were 8 other people in my group, so you got to know everyone on the trip. Sights were terrific, and the food was excellent, with sufficient quantities for all. Since I had only enough time for a one day side trip to Halong Bay this trip was perfect.
A long drive to and from the city but getting to see and tour Halong Bay was worth the while. Exploring inside one of the limestone mountains was a very good experience, but be prepared to climb a lot of steps along with the walk back down.
Loved Halong Bay and the cruise. Wonderful adventure and a nice group of people. The van ride to and from the bay was long and the van not that comfortable for an 8 hour round trip.
Very good guide. It's a long day but worth it - the views are stunning. The boats are a bit old and the bay is a little crowded but we didn't mind as the trip as a whole was very good. I'd recommend it.
The Halong Bay portion of the trip gets a five star rating. It was much better that my wife and I expected... The boat was excellent, the food was great and plentiful and the crew were capable and friendly. Overall it was a wonderful experience.
The tour guide and driver were a pleasure to spend the day with.
The only downside was the travel time and the condition of the roads, but all things considered, it is excellent value for money and a MUST SEE experience
The tour went on well as expected as I have read. The service of the guide was good and in general we enjoyed ourselves.
However, the transport given was a bit disappointing. It was an old mini bus. It had really bad suspension. The ride was terribly bumpy. It was impossible to sleep on the bus going and returning from the bay.
I can confirm that the bus was bad as our other experience in a saloon car was a lot better. We could not feel the usual bumps on the Hanoi highway.
I would insist that a more up to date vehicle be used for this trip. It increase the enjoyment of the trip to the bay and back.
We developed a back ache from sitting in the bus and it was not pleasant.
Pick up from hotel was good, the driver and guide did an excellent job, and the boat and its crew were attentive and the lunch was good, in fact to much to eat. A really enjoyable day.
We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable and ha excellent spoken English. The lunch on the boat was beautifully presented, a good variety and tasted wonderful. We weren't prepared for the extra fee for the kayak or boat ride, maybe prior heads up on that would be appreciated. (We assume they only accepted cash). It was a wonderful day and would strongly recommend. Our guide was kind enough to set up another tour for us the following day.
This is definitely worth a visit, just a shame about the 3.5 hour trip each way on the bumpiest roads in history. Had the good fortune of getting in a row boat and going through the rock formations (additional cost).
