Cu Chi Tunnels Small Group Adventure Tour from Ho Chi Minh City

Leaving the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City behind, take a 2.5-hour journey west towards the Cambodian border bound for the Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi tunnels were built by local fighters during the Indochina conflict as a base from which the Viet Cong could operate from close to the Southern Vietnamese capital. Initial construction started in 1948 when the Viet Minh required somewhere to hide from French air attacks and by 1965, the Cu Chi tunnel complex was estimated to consist of 200km's of tunnels. It included, hospitals, schools, meeting rooms, kitchens and sleeping quarters. Life was difficult for the inhabitants and to protect against outside intruders bobby traps were laid throughout the complex.

Your local guide will take you on a fascinating tour around the Cu Chi Tunnels where you'll learn more about the conditions the Vietnamese people lived in, the hardships they faced and the amazing ingenuity employed to maintain life in the tunnels.

Great trip to get outside the city for a morning. We stopped at a local farm and got to spend about thirty minutes seeing how daily life on the farm is. Our tour guide Loung provided facts and kept us engaged the entire trip. The entire tunnels area has been setup for tourists and does a good job of showing the history and perspective of the Cu Chi people in the Vietnamese War. Bring 300,000vd if you want to shoot some of the old weapons at the range on the end of the tour! Great experience, would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Saigon

Our guide was really nice and knowledgeable. She explained many things about the tunnels, made the tour quite interactive, and I feel like I saw and learnt much more in this tour than I would have seen in a museum or on websites about Vietnam war.

This tour was amazing! Really gave you insight on how the viet cong lived during the war times! The 30 second optional experience in the tunnel was a real eye opener! We also got to visit a family who lived near by and saw how the rice paper wrappers were made!

This tour was amazing! We had a small group of only 4 people and our guide Ms Queenie was absolutely great - she is so friendly but most of all so knowledgeable there was nothing she couldn't answer and she taught us so much about the Vietnamese culture and history I would highly recommend this trip

Excellent tour! Quenie was fantastic! Knowledgeable on all aspects of Vietnamese culture and very personable. The detour to make some rice paper is a nice addition too. The tour of the tunnels is great. It's popular so there are lots of other groups and big crowds but it's worth doing. Take the chance to get into the hole see the profile picture for this tour for what I mean when it comes as there's only one chance to do it! There's a chance to fire a range of weapons in an outdoor range too which is cool costs extra and the whole tour is timed about right. Good value for the price - book it!

This tour turned out to be one of the most awesome experiences of our two weeks stay in Vietnam, also due to our great tour guide Ms. Linda. From the beginning, she created a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere, and stayed in constant dialogue with the group to make sure that the half day trip is spent in a way that is the most enjoyable for every participant.
This led also to a stop at a local house at which Ms. Linda and the residents demonstrated rice paper and rubber production. As this visit was originally not mentioned in the tour, it was a very welcome addition to the booked package.
The time at the tunnels was well spent, with really good explanations by Ms. Linda, and enough time to discover the underground world of the tunnels.
