What You Can Expect
After you’ve taken in some architecture and history, head to Reunification Palace and explore the dark empty halls of this former home and workplace of the president of Vietnam. A royal and regal structure during the Vietnam War, a North Vietnamese army tank crashed through its gates and ended the war, making it a significant city landmark.
Your friendly guide will take you past several other French-style architectural landmarks, including the Central Post Office and Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral. You’ll get an up close look at the striking interior of the public post building filled with painted maps of the former city and enjoy a tour of the stunning and peaceful neo-Romanesque architecture of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
From here, your small group tour heads to Dong Khoi Street—a bustling commercial district known for trendy boutiques, quiet cafes, tasty restaurants and unique shops. Wander past the Municipal Theatre of Ho Chi Minh City—known as the Saigon Opera House—where the local symphony and city ballet perform. Your guide will share stories about this Gothic structure that served as a refuge for French Citizens in North Vietnam during WWI.
After you’ve experienced the highlights of Ho Chi Minh City, round out your urban experience with a thrilling speedboat ride along the Saigon River. Cruise past traditional stilt houses, and learn about the lives of locals who depend on the river for their livelihood. You’ll enjoy sunset views and warm breezes aboard your speeding ship before returning to shore by 6 p.m., where you’ll return to your hotel in air-conditioned comfort.
Excellent tour , great guide and good value.
Excellent tour of the city and a very good tour guide.
This tour gave us an excellent overview of central Ho Chi Minh City with focus on the War Remnants Museum, a collection of weapons and pictures based on the Vietnamese beating both the French and American armies, and the Reunification Palace, the home and office of the former president of South Vietnam which was captured by North Vietnamese troops in April 1975. The Palace is seen as it was when the president fled. We also visited the Post Office designed by M. Eiffel who also built the Eiffel Tower in Paris; the French colonial style city hall, the Opera House and other buildings. A speedboat your up the Saigon River showed us the poorer side of Saigon with thousands of shacks on stilts built along the river bank, and at one place on the river the most expensive housing in Ho Chi Minh City.
Good introduction to the maiin highlights of the city and its past history.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Dominic, was very enthusiastic. I've learned a lot about Ho Chi Minh through him. The Speedboat ride was great too. Definitely worth your while. I recommend this tour to anyone who's going to Ho Chi Minh for the first time.
Informative tour guide, spent just the right amount of time at each place.
