An interesting taste of a rapidly modernising China.

The trip into China was fascinating and most certainly worthwhile for anyone who wants a taster experience. China was not what I expected at all. The streets were cleaner, the people were courteous and friendly, the food we sampled was delicious. It has made me want to book a long trip to China to see much more of the country. Thank you to the team, your organisation made everything hassle free and gave us 'tourists' time to relax and enjoy the whole experience.

The trip was great and it gave me lots of insight into China - enough to make me book a complete tour for next year. The only downfall is that this tour entails a lot of traveling to get there and back, for one day.

I did not see the point in the visit to the kindergarten, and felt uncomfortable. I was also disappointed that there were only three terracotta soldiers, which where a front for a state shop selling crafts, although the goods on offer where of very good value and where of a high standard. The zoo animals where kept in very poor conditions, and the panda was old and moth eaten. We expected to see more countryside and possibly traditional farms and villages, but spent two hours driving by development sites at the side of the road. We then had a mediocre meal and a very short walk through a traditional market, which was the most interesting part of the day. The visit to the second souvenir shop was unnecessary and a waste of time. We should have seen a lot more of grass roots china. The local Chinese guide was very good, but we wish he would have spent more time talking about Chinese culture and history rather than the great Chinese economic miracle.

The tour guide was very helpful and informative. However, parts of this trip were a let down. The photos taken by the company were expensive. The zoo stop off was good. The boat trip there and the train trip back made the trip.

It didn't live up to my expectations. Too much travel and very little own time to wander. I would have enjoyed some free time, even 15 minutes at the temple of the 6 banyan trees. Seeing the terracotta was a sales pitch, kindergarden was interesting but brief and unnecessary. Meal was excellent. We also had an issue with the Hong Kong guides making assumptions. We were picked up and taken to the ferry terminal where the guide got off the coach and forged ahead making no effort to ensure that all of us could follow.

This tour was not worth the money. It is a lot of travel 1 hr on the ferry, 2 hrs on the bus, 2 hrs on the train back to Hong Kong. The panda was just like one in any other zoo. Also the cage the panda was kept in was small and dirty.

Terracota warrior was disappointing. The panda visit was so limited, not worthwhile. The guide was very good. I’m glad I had the experience but I would also recommend researching other tours.

Too much time spent on the road, food was so so, panda was disappointingly thin and frail looking. We were ripped off by a picture-on-plate gimmick. We had our camera all along and these guy just took our pictures using theirs and produced the plates even without asking us first.
