Tours, sightseeing tours, activities & things to do | Viator.comThe city of Zhongshan holds a dear place in the heart of many Chinese people. It was originally renamed in honour of Dr. Sun Zhongshan, also know as Sun Yat-sen, considered by many to be the "Father of modern China". Dr. Sun was born in Cuiheng village (now part of Nanlang Town) just outside of downtown Zhongshan.
Pick up from your hotel in the morning to the Ferry Terminal. Depart for Zhongshan City that carries a history of more than 800 years and is situated at the south of Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province.
The sightseeing starts with a visit to a famous local tea garden to see the plantation of traditional Chinese tea, join a tea ceremony and savour different flavours of teas. Here, also is an opportunity to get some hands-on experience of roasting tea with the guidance of the tea-master.
Afterwards, walk through the beautiful Pedestrian Shopping Street that is a replica of architecture dating back to the 1920s.
After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, explore the beautiful Lingnan River Village by boat and see the daily life of local fisherman and farmers in the Pearl River Delta. The village covers an area of about 35 sq. km and is surrounded by a complicated network of water ways which makes the area one of the most productive for fruits and freshwater produce in the country. The area has preserved the natural ecological environment and the dwellers there live a simple life unspoiled by the complications of the modern world.
Late afternoon depart for Hong Kong by catamaran and transfer back to hotel.
