It was great. Even though it was raining, we could see lots of beautiful sites along the Danube river. Good food and skillful guide!!!

The stop at the jewelry manufacturing facility was purely commercial, but the rest of the tour was excellent.

I was disappointed that we were not dropped off at our hotel.

The trip to the diamond outlet was pretty much a waste of time for most people. Perhaps some time at the ancient Roman sites would have been better. All of Danube Bend was excellent but the actual trip on the Danube on the last leg didn't quite live up to my expectations, as it was nothing more than a boat ride back into Budapest. Once there, of course, it was excellent.

The Danube was nice, but there was no transportation after the tour was over. We were on our own and had a hard time locating a taxi.

The taxi company that the tour operator sent to pick me up failed to arrive, so I had to wait an hour for the company to send someone to collect me. So I missed the first hour of the tour, but the visit to the diamond store was really all I missed, and that is a very boring stop. The food at the church was not so good, but it's a nice venue. The village stop on the way back was interesting and the boat ride back is pleasant. This might not be a good experience if the weather is bad.

I was not very impressed with this tour. Our first stop was the Caprice jewelery store where we had a quick tour and were shown a video telling us why we absolutely had to buy diamonds. Then it was off to the showroom. The big highlight was the cold beverage. We then got back on the bus and headed to Ezstergom. Esztergom was essentially a tour of the church. The church is lovely, but for the amount of time spent inside, we could have seen the museum, or more of the town. We weren't even taken down to see the crypt. After the church, we had a sit-down lunch. I think the time would have been much better served on the bus with a brown-bag lunch. The next stop was Visegrad. We drove up the mountain, passed the ruins, turned around, passed the ruins again, stopped at a lookout point for 5 minutes to snap some quick photos, and then back on the bus. This was a big let down. We were told that the ruins were open as a museum. It would have been much better had we actually been able to go into the museum rather than just taunted with the idea. From there we drove to Szentendre. We had an hour to walk around before catching the boat back to Budapest. This one hour was wonderful. I would have loved more time to explore this town, and visit the many craft shops, but time did not allow. As for the boat ride, being out on the water, with the sun shining and the wind blowing, was lovely.
Overall, I would recommend that you skip this tour and instead, make your way to Szentendre and spend a few hours exploring the town on your own.
We stayed an hour and a half in the caprice jewelry center due to the guide not being in control of group. We didn't stop at Visegrad, obviously, as we were running late.

The small museum in the diamond factory was hardly worth taking the time, considering we had a walk-through of an immense high priced jewelry store.

I thought the first two stops should have been shorter, and the diamond tour should have been deleted totally. Then we would have more time for the last and most interesting stop, Szentendre. Also, the free lunch that was included was only of average quality.

The guide was brilliant, providing interesting facts and anecdotes, including on bus trip when we drove past ancient Roman ruins. Our bus was air-conditioned and comfortable, as we only had a small group of eight couples. All three destinations were spectacular. The tour of Diamond manufacturing beforehand was blatant commercialism and really was the only thing that spoiled the trip. The hour spent there could have been better used at Visegrad with more free time to explore the fortress, as we only had about ten minutes of free time there. Our meal at the restaurant following the Cathedral visit was fine, but nothing to write home about. The ferry return to Budapest was good and the weather was great! Budapest is a fantastic city, I rate it better than Vienna!
