Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Golden Circle Evening Trip from Reykjavik. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
The evening trip allowed us to spend the day in Reykjavik and then see the outskirts during the long, light evening hours. It is a great choice because we did not encounter any crowds so it seemed as though the beautiful sites were ours alone. Linda was our guide- and she shared her knowledge and love of Iceland with us throughout the tour. Take advantage of the evening tour - you won't regret the beauty, solitude and stories from your guide!
Excellent tour, the guide was brilliant, the places we were taking to were very interesting, especially the geysers and waterfalls. Would highly reccomend.
Wonderful sights with a fantastic driver/guide who gave great commentary - he even dropped us off at the hot dog stand when we asked for directions!!
We really enjoyed the night tour, which had daylight the entire time. Our guide Martina was very knowledgable. She was able to answer all our questions, and she had interesting stories to tell. The sights were beautiful, and the various qualities of the light were amazing.
Well done , guide spoke good English and was very informative. Unfortunately the weather at the the Gullfoss was harsh.
Wonderful evening trip, good time to take beautiful photos, also the tour leader give enough knowledge of Iceland land and culture.
Our evening trip was a wonderful experience namely because of our very experienced, knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide, Fridrik Brekkan. He loves Iceland and wanted us to see it as the beautiful country it is. We have come away wanting to see more and appreciate him making our short visit one we will always remember. Thank you for a wonderful memory.
An excellent tour with informative guide. It was not too crowded at any of the sites which we assume is an advantage of the evening timing.
This tour was perfect for our group. At every stop it was just us and not a large crowd that the day tours get. The tour guide was great. Her english was very good and we enjoyed the history and legends of Iceland. The scenery was unmatched as the sun was going down the entire 5 hour tour. It was still light out by the time we got back to Reykjavik. If you're on business and have to work during the day, I suggest doing this tour if you still want to see Iceland. Our group had a lot of fun. The only drawback is that you don't stop long enough at certain places, but that's because its only 5 hours not 8 hours long.
Despite the less than perfect weather, this trip was wonderful and i am s o glad to have been able to do it, The guide gave us so much information about the geology, history, folklore of the region, and had a great sense of humour. She was amazing. The sights were truly wonderful, and I recommend the trip to everyone going to Iceland.,..... and anyone flying via Reykjavik to stay overnight just to do this tour.
Very good tour and amazing to see everything so late at night in complete daylight. Great guide, very knowledgable and good sense of humour. Waterfalls are very spectacular.Good value for money - especially compared to excursions booked on the cruise ship!!
Execllent. Very informative. Driver went out of his way to show us other attractions not on the tour
The excursion was perfect. Our driverguide was very polite, helpful and we had a very good time during our excursion. He explained us everything in details.
Not just a beautiful scenic tour but the driver gave us insight into the Icelandic mind set and provided meaningful information about what we were seeing. Don't be put off by the threat of rain, when rain showers limited the view just a little bit the driver was most accomodating and modified the tour and showed us a glacier! Iceland Excursions offers highly organized tours that are well worth it! Amazing experience--I recommend the evening tour--you have the sights practically to yourself!
A great trip and not many people around in the evening. A small group of 5 of us and a guide. That was perfect!
We had a good guide who spoke very good English and was very informative. We enjoyed the lovely sights, and the tour was well worth going on.
The evening tour from start to finish was a great success for my wife and myself. All aspects of the tour were terrific!
Evening circle in Iceland at this time of year does not mean evening. It was light our whole trip. No sunset. Guide and driver were excellent. We were in a small vehicle, about 15 people, which made this a very intimate trip. Trip took about 7 hours. We got to see a lot of the country and the 3 sites mentioned for this tour. A good value. We were picked up at the cruise port after we called to let them know we had arrived. On this trip i would recommend you bring water and a snack.
The tour was perfect, considering that we did not have the time for the longer day tour. Nevertheless, this shorter tour is really good to get an impression. We´re determined to come back to Iceland for a longer tour of everything. The tour narrator was very good, very informative with just the right amount of information.
The tour itself was great, as was our guide and driver. Very informative and friendly. My only issue was with the lack of service from Reykjavik Excursions at the pick up area. It's incredibly confusing, some of the drivers were incredibly unhelpful / rude when asking them where we should be waiting for a particular tour. Seemed to be a lot of frustration regarding swapping receipts / print outs for tickets - to then give them back to the same person. I feel like all of these matters could have been dealt with by 1 representative that works outside the building giving people the information they need / checking them in. It certainly caused a bad atmosphere on two of our coaches / made the process less enjoyable.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The only negative would be it was getting dark at the last stop. I understand the only was to fix that would be to start the tour earlier.
This was a nice and easy trip for evening. However, we took on August 20th which was the last night of the season it was being offerred. As such it was really too dark by the time we got to the Geysir (final stop). While we did get to see the geysir blow several times, it was disappointing that it was so dark and we didn't get any good pix. Thingvellir was great and Gullfoss was spectacular. If doing late summer, skip the evening trip and do during the day.
