Itinerary
Day 1:
Your professional guide will meet you at the Iquitos International airport and take you on a brief city tour of Iquitos. Then, head over to the dock for a 25-mile (40-km) journey down the Amazon River. You'll quickly realize that you've left all civilization behind as you venture deeper into the jungle.
Upon arrival to the luxurious Ceiba Tops Lodge, you'll check in to your room and have some free time to explore the facilities. Air conditioning and private bathrooms are just two of the amenities included in your stay. You'll then enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge before your afternoon activity begins.
Embark on a nature hike and discover the world-renowned Amazon Rainforest. Your expert naturalist guide will point out and teach you about the diverse tropical trees, plants and wildlife that inhabit the area. This leisurely hike offers fantastic photo opportunities!
You'll then return back to the lodge and enjoy dinner. Afterwards, relax and enjoy festivities and live music at the lodge bar. Soak in the Amazon atmosphere and listen as the locals tell stories of their forest and its legends.
Day 2:
After breakfast, set off on a relaxing boat ride to a Yagua Indian village. On the way, you may spot dolphins known to dwell in the area, including the famous Amazon pink dolphin. Once you arrive at the village, your guide will explain the culture and history of the indigenous Yagua people. You'll also get the chance to interact with the locals and learn about their traditional hunting techniques.
Return to the lodge for a delicious lunch before enjoying a walking tour around the neighboring town of Indiana, which has grown into a large river community with its own market, high school and small hospital. Then, enjoy another relaxing night at the lodge.
Day 3:
Enjoy breakfast and choose between an exciting Amazon River cruise or a scenic walking tour. In the afternoon, you'll be transferred back to Iquitos in order to catch your return flight.
