You traverse Ireland's midlands, with its vast tracts of peat (turf) boglands, crossing the mighty Shannon River at Athlone. On arrival in Galway transfer to your waiting coach and strike out into the magnificent scenery of this region known as Connemara (inlets of the sea). Lakes, mountains, stone walls and thatched cottages - are all there for you to behold.
Stop for lunch at O'Dowd's seafood bar overlooking Roundstone Harbor on the Atlantic coast. Visit the Coral Beach, Clifden (the capital of Connemara) and the breathtaking Sky Road drive. Time for shopping at stunning Kylemore Abbey Visitors Center. Continue on through the mountains and valleys returning to Galway for your return InterCity train (snack car available) to Dublin arriving at 8:50pm.
Please note, on certain days this tour will visit the village of Leenane on Killary Harbor instead of Roundstone, The Coral Beach, The Sky Road and lunch stop will be at Kylemore Abbey or Clifden.
