See Ephesus on this 5-Day tour from Istanbul

Your 5-day Turkey tour begins with a convenient pick-up from your central Istanbul hotel. Get acquainted with your group and guide, then get ready to venture to one of the most stunning regions in Turkey, the Aegean Coast.

Day 1: Istanbul -- Gallipoli -- Çanakkale (D)
Meet your guide and settle into your comfortable transportation, as you depart from Istanbul and head toward Gallipoli. Here, follow your guide to the battlefields where they will explain the relevant war history of this compelling region. Stop by Anzac Cove, the Nek, as well as Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials. Walk the lengths of the World War I era tunnels and trenches in this historic region.

At the end of the day, you will be transported to your hotel in the postcard seaside town, Çanakkale.

Overnight: 4-star Iris hotel or similar in Çanakkale

Day 2: Çanakkale – Troy -- Pergamum -- Kusadasi (B, D)
Savor breakfast at your hotel in the morning, then freshen up for another full day of sightseeing. Turn back the hands of time when you arrive in Troy. This UNESCO World Heritage Site contains fascinating Greek and Turkish history that your guide will gladly explain to you. Learn about the Trojan Horse, Homer’s Odyssey, and more enthralling tales.

Next, venture to the ancient Greek city of Pergamum. Marvel at this ancient Greek citadel, as you’ll have time to explore the grounds. Peruse the temples, library, ruins and old political and cultural centers.

Before sunset, check in to your comfortable Kusadasi hotel.

Overnight: 4-star Marina Hotel or similar in Kusadasi

Day 3: Kusadasi -- Ephesus -- Kusadasi (B, D)
Once you’ve enjoyed your hotel breakfast, venture to Ephesus for an immersive day trip to this interesting ancient city. Learn about the Romans who once ruled this region, and walk among Roman thought-provoking ruins. Admire one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Temple of Artemis.

Refuel with lunch, then take your time learning about the art of Turkish carpets, one of the country’s most prided crafts, at a nearby village. Watch people weave intricate carpets by hand and learn about this special skill. Then, enjoy the ride back to your Kusadasi hotel in time for dinner.

Overnight: 4-star Marina Hotel or similar in Kusadasi

Day 4: Kusadasi – Pamukkale – Hierapolis -- Pamukkale (B, D)
After breakfast, journey to Pamukkale to where you will see the famous travertines: terraced limestone pooled with water. Get your camera out for a few memorable photos, and stroll the area.

Embark on a sightseeing tour of Hierapolis, an ancient city. Here you can see the Necropolis, which has been well preserved over the centuries, as well as the Basilica of St Philippe and a Greek-Roman theater.

Bring your swim suit for a dip in the hot springs, if you wish. Back in the Roman times, they were utilized for therapy. Journey back to Pamukkale and settle into your hotel. Enjoy dinner in the evening.

Overnight: 5-star Colossae hotel or similar in Pamukkale

Day 5: Pamukkale -- Istanbul
On the final day of your tour, voyage back to Istanbul. On your way, stop at Bursa to visit the famous Green Mosque and peruse a renowned silk bazaar. Upon arriving in Istanbul, you will be transferred to your hotel where your tour concludes.

Good company of Aussies and Kiwis which makes this trip excellent. Not to forget a couple of South Africans. Hotel choices were good enough and we visited all the relevant historical sites.

The tour was comprehensive but not overwhelming, with a good mix of scheduled and free time. The guide was great. The guests all got along really well. The hotels were generally fine, and the food quite good.

We enjoyed our tour very much and had a great travel group. Hotels were definitely good especially our suite in Kusadaci. Lots of choice in the dinner buffets. We had enough room in the bus to spread out and be comfortable.

Very enjoyable. Particularly liked Ephusus, Pamukkale and Bursa. Would have liked a full day exploring Pamukkale and more time in Bursa. Would benefit from better explanation and more detailed itinerary. Guide and driver particularly personable. Accommodation was all good and optional extras were highlights

Fabulous, fabulous value for money, we would highly recommend this tour to anyone. It was jammed packed with site visits. The length of time spent at each site was enough. Our tour guide was a real character as well as being very informative - an added bonus. Typical of Turkish tours, the tour included several visits to shopping venues, some of which for us were tiresome. We had wished t times we could have spent the time at the historical sites but realize some of the others on the tour like these sorts of things. Overall the site visits and shopping stops were reasonably balanced.

I have used Viator in the past and have been generally pleased with the service. This tour included travelers who booked through various agencies. Most had a detailed itinerary (14+ pages) and were disappointed that Viator hadn't provided this to us. However this is not in the least to diminish the experience of the tour in itself.

Our guide, Ilker, was THE BEST guide we have ever experienced. He was skilled at making the stones of the monuments and temples come alive with history. He connected with the tour goers on a caring and personal level. What a gem! Ahmet our driver was invincible. One suggestion: drive through Pamukkale and on to Bursa. We needed more time to enjoy that lovely city. The Five Star hotel in Pamukkale was very disappointing.

Please don't miss Pergamum, Troy, and Ephesus. These were wonderful sites to visit! Thank you again Ilker!! - Inez and Jean
