Fantastic way to see Istanbul, particularly as a 'first day overview'.

The access point for the big red bus is in Sultanahmet Square so it is just by the Blue Mosque, Aia Sofia and Topkapi Palace. We thought the commentary was very good and could be heard clearly. We were on a cruise from Istanbul, and the cruise ship had organised a similar tour, which we didn't join, at about 20 times the cost, so we felt it was good value. The traffic was very heavy, so the tour took nearly 2 hours, half an hour over, but is thorough, informative and gives you a quick overview of this amazing city. Definitely to be recommended.

The fact that it rained more or less the whole time we were in Istanbul meant that we were very pleased to be doing the bus tour Istanbul is a vast sprawling city, so it was useful to have this trip to get our bearings a little. The commentary was very informative and easy to hear.

Tape recorder guide asking for tiping. Half an hour waiting in Taksim square without information why. That was included in the 1.45 hours tour.

The headphone jacks on the bus didn't all work, so we had to move seats in order to hear. Several advertisements were included in the recorded announcements.
