Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Istanbul Shore Excursion: Istanbul in One Day Sightseeing Tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Pick up no problem, small group in minibus. Excellent guide, just enough information and free time to explore. Good lunch. Less than half the price of cruise ships similar itinerary, thoroughly recommend..
Everything was perfect. Our tour guide, Omar, was amazing and all of our activities were great. Even lunch was terrific!
Great Tour. Our guide Tibet was well organised and very knowledgeable.
Dear Sirs, Nov 11, 2013
With reference to our visit to Istanbul on Oct 19, 2013, what I would like to
say here is it was a very nice day trip and an unforgettable experience of
not only to us but also to everyone at that day, we believe.
Mr. Tour Guide, a local young man educated in USA, impressed us very
much for his solid knowledge of both about Istanbul and Turkey in the
fields of history, culture, tradition, economy, and geography etc.
Also, the lunch is a standard and nice one with three plates. So, my
rating for this tour is 5 stars without any suspense.
Should We have the new schedule for cruising at sea in future,
we would certainly again book the shore excursion programs at
your esteemed company.
We saw more than we expected as we did not expect to see the city cisterns. The guide was excellent, very informative and organized, and we covered everything thoroughly even though we had a short day in port. The guide was very good in accommodating different request from different group members, even though they did not make it easy for her. A fine tour all around, thorough and professional. Excellent value.
This tour is a must when exploring Istanbul in small groups [ten are less] the guides are excellent and very knowledeable.
This tour is a must do, it exceeded our expectations and the tour guide was the best we had on our 12 day cruise. The price was much less than the ship and was much more inclusive. I will assure anyone that books this tour that you will be amazed at what you will see and the tour guide is extremly thoughtful, safe and knowlegeable.
The Tour was fantastic. There were only four of us, so it was almost a personal tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. He had prepurchased tickets, so that we avoided the horrendous lines. After he gave us a description and history of each site, he gave us ample time to wander and take pictures. The included lunch was excellent, several ample courses of Turkish food. Your tour was an unbelievable bargain compared to the cruise line tour and appeared to be as complete. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
This was a small group tour as opposed to the "thundering herd" busload tours the cruise lines offer. Our guide was very knowledgable and spoke excellent English and the driver was friendly and polite although he didn't speak English. That's probably a good thing considering the traffic he had to deal with.
We visited several of the most famous sites in Istanbul. Our guide always gave us plenty of time to look around after a thorough explanation of each particular site.
The company works with the cruise ship schedule to insure that they get you back to the ship on time, which is a big worry as nobody wants to get left in one port as the ship departs for another. In our case, Istanbul was the destination so that wasn't an issue. They dropped us at our hotel rather than taking us back to the ship. Very convenient.
This was our first experience with Viator, but it definitely won't be our last. My wife and I really enjoyed the tour and will look to Viator for tours on future trips.
This tour was one of the high points of our entire trip. Viator arranged the tour and we were picked up at the pier as promised - with a short wait. We ended up having a lovely guide virtually to ourselves, shared only with one other couple. We had an amazing day together, seeing all of the highlights - the Topkapi Palace, Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. Ally was very interesting and knowledgable and we came away with a greater history of the people of turkey and a much better knowledge of their culture. I cannot emphasize how superior this was to the cruise tours we had been accustomed to! It was so nice to be in a smaller group where you could actually get to know the guide and to be herded around with 60 other people! Further - there were no "commercials" - stops at cameo factories, rug factories, jewelry stores, etc. that eat up your valuable holiday time! Finally - true to Viator's promise - we were back on the ship more than on time. Thanks for a great experience!
It was a very good organised trip, we were picked up at the cruise port as arranged by you. The Mini Bus was very comfortable and with a small group our tour guide was very knowledgeable, patient and attentive. The meal that was included was very nice and the views from the restaurant were spectacular
Really surprised to find only 4 people on our tour- How lucky were we. Omar was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a busy tour in a very laid back style. We saw all the key sites. I now understand much more about Islam than before. The Blue mosque is incredible as is Aghia Sofia and the Topkapi palace. Lunch was very nice with freshly cooked pastries. salad and lamb kofta kebabs with baklava to finish. A carpet demonstration was included which we were not interested in purchasing , however there was no hassle or pressure with this at all.As the Grand Bazaar was closed on Sunday, Omar accommodated our request for a visit to the Spice Market. Altogether an unforgettable and enjoyable day. Many Thanks
Topkapi has long lines and is the least interesting of the sites....maybe I was just tired, but the wait did not seem worth it. The other sites were great, lunch was terrific and our guide gave us insights into Muslim culture that was informative and enlightening. I recommend this tour.
