Our guide was knowledgeable and flexible. We were able to avoid lines by organizing the order of our sightseeing based on the line size and traffic conditions which the guide could see from his smartphone. Friends who took a tour offered by the cruise ship reported being stuck on a bus in traffic a lot. Our guide was very friendly and personable. Good humor. We enjoyed the day.
Great tour...knowledgeable and courteous guide, Zachary. Great driver, especially considering driving and parking conditions!!!
Our guide Apter made an amazing day for us. We saw all the sites and got thorough explanations and a great deal of information about Islam and the history of Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires in Istanbul. We also saw an amazing carpet-making demonstration and we were shown some beautiful pieces. There was no pressure to buy and the man who led the demo was really nice and sincere. Since we were just 2 people, we had a nice lunch in a very traditional Ottoman restaurant. If you can fit a private tour into your budget, you will not be disappointed.
An excellent tour with a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. The day takes in the major sites in Istanbul which are generally in easy walking distance from each other. The pick-up from the hotel was easy to arrange and the tour guide was on time. Lovely lunch in the middle of the day. All in all, a very good way to see Istanbul.
This private tour was definitely worth the expense. Everything took place on time and was confirmed in writing prior to the tour. Hakan was very knowledgable and cared a lot about making the tour successful. My friends back home said that the Turkisht Delight that he recommended was unlike any they had tasted before and suggested opening up an import business :) This was my first trip to Istanbul, and I feel like I saw more in one day than I would have seen on my own in three (because we did not get lost, could jump the lines, and becuase I did not have to read all the info at the museums). Also, as a woman travelling alone, getting to know the city better with a guide made me feel more confident going out on my own the following days. I have already recommended this to my friends!
We were very pleased with this tour. Our guide, Omer, was wonderful. He was have knowledgeable about all the sights we were visiting and had great pride in his country. We also really enjoyed getting to know Omer and hearing about his life. We never felt rushed and were very fortunate to enjoy all the beautiful attractions in Istanbul.
The guide was a fountain of information and responded to all our questions thoroughly and with patience. Going on a private tour was excellent as my wife really can't keep the pace with the large "herd" approach of usual ship tours. We were met at the boat and dropped off there so it was convenient. Istanbul was worth the trip. There is so much history and our guide Aiden know it all and then some.
We had a great day with our private tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we went on the tour and about the history of Istanbul and Turkey. He was very friendly and we enjoyed the tour very much. We really liked visiting the historical sights in Istanbul and the food was very good in the restaurant where we stopped for lunch. In short, it was a very enjoyable day and the guide was great!
A one person tour by a professional tour guide, spoke excellent English. Right on time showed me many things I wouldn't have seen on my own. Bypass many lines, I can't speak too high of the service. I am sold on using this service again, hopefully in all of my future travels. Very happy!!!
This tour was a fantastic overview of all the old city sights. Outstanding guide who was very knowledgeable and did a great job of presenting historical information in an interesting fashion. Lovely hotel lunch included in the ticket price. Would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family visiting Istanbul.
Very knowledgable tour guide. Included driver and vehicle. Lunch was very representative of Turkish local cuisine and the restaurant was very pleasant. It is important that the guide is open to talk about politics and daily life as well as have a good command of the English language. This tour fit that bill.
fabulous and well worth it - so much information shared and lunch was superb!
Tíbet, our guide, was simply amazing. She had so much knowledge that my head was spinning post-tour! It was just my husband and I on this tour, and we we're so glad. Topkapi Palace would not have been so interesting had it not been for the information and history she provided. It, by far, was our favorite of the 4 sights visited. We especially appreciated not having to wait out the queues, as she already had our tickets. We requested to skip the carpet demonstration (did that in Ephesus and had no desire to do it again). We had also already visited the Grand Bazaar on our own the day before, so we skipped it. Don't think twice, book this tour if you want a great experience.
This was one of the best values in the way of a tour we have ever taken. All the important sights were visited and discussed by our very knowledgeable guide, Gullay, plus we were taken to lunch at a very high end restaurant for a delicious meal. The spots we visited were wonderful, but the important part of all of them was the way they were brought to life by Gullay. She was great. We will certainly be using Viator again, when we visit other countries and highly recommend them and their professionalism to everyone!
Perfect way to begin our stay in Istanbul. Tibet was a wknderful guide and tailored our tour to our specificatioons. Having a guide meant minimal waiting in line at the various spots. Loved the Cistern and Tibet enthusiastically joined in oir search for the "perfect" treasures. The stop at the rug store was informative and fun. Lunch was also a treat and Tibet gave us great recommendatins for the rest of our stay.
Excellent guide. Found our level of interest and knowledge and was articulate and interesting. Would have preferred a more rustic and traditional setting for lunch but no complaints about what I received.
Excellent and I would thoroughly recommend. We had limited time in Istanbul and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and we gained a great deal from this tour.
This was a fantastic tour. Our guide was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable, fluent in English and able to answer all my questions, not only about the sites but also about the history of Istanbul and the Turkish people and their culture. Well worth the money.
We really enjoyed our tour, our guide was excellent, and our lunch was too. We would recommend Viatour to our friends. No future travel plans at this time.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and polite. We could not have asked for a better guide. The lunch was great. Overall a great experience.
We arranged for a private tour for our group (9 people) and all of us were delighted with the outcome. Everything was well thought out - tour, bus, and lunch (great!) and, despite the fact that there was a problem with the bus at pick-up time, everything was on schedule. Our guide was wonderful and easily engaged in a dialogue about life in Turkey and Istanbul on topics unrelated to the tour itself. I would (and do) recommend this tour highly to everyone visiting this beautiful city. Add to this that the commentary is coming from a person (me) who is not happy at all about Turkish politics and was all set to not like the city and the tour.
We had a great day. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and made things come alive. He rearranged the series of events to avoid crowds ,as it was a very busy day in port. We would certainly recommend Viator
Istanbul. Woaw! Our tour guide Shevoly was very nice and knowledgable. It was a fantastic day. Although hagia Sofia was closed but the church Chora that we visited was amazing. The story of passages of the bible painted on the ceiling of the church is worth seeing.
The restaurant where we had lunch had a beautiful view of the bosphore, blue mosque, hagia sofia .
I would highly recommend this tour
