Great tour with a very knowledgable guide. Visiting fushimi inari was a dream come true. Spotted a geisha in Gion to top it off.
It was a great cultural tour. We met with Elsa who brought us around a few of the shrines and temples in the Kyoto area and she provided information in a perfectly understandable english.
There is quite a bit of walking, but she gives the group an option to walk or take a train.
The Geisha portion of the tour (towards the end) is a hit or miss. You may, or may not, be able to stumble upon a geisha during the tour. So, there is a bit of luck that goes with it. I did manage to see one from afar (legit geisha, not an ordinary woman dressed in a Kimono), but to make your tour more successful, I suggest staying away from the main road.
This tour was fantastic. The tour guide was funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. The small group size worked very well as we did a good amount of walking in busy areas. At the end of the tour the guide recommended a few areas for dinner that were english-speaking friendly but off the beaten path - really fabulous.
Our guide Elsa was wonderful and took us to some great sights. As a resident she was able to share some interesting insights to Japanese culture. It started to pour at one point but she kept going as long as the group was ok with it. group size was just right. Highly recommend
I had a wonderful experience. The tour guide is very nice and speaks very good english! They were very knowledgable, and so willing to answer questions. I got some of my best photographs on this tour over my entire two months in Japan. This is the tour to do!
It was awesome. Very informative and appreciated being given options and allowed to weigh in on what we did and how we got there.
Wonderful guide. The process was easy. Meeting place was easy to find next to Kyoto station. Really enjoyed the walk through the residential streets which felt more like real Kyoto instead of staying exclusively with tourist places.
We visited kyoto last week and this half day tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Elsa was friendly and knowledgable and provided us with some valuable tips and suggestions that we found very useful. She is passionate about what she does and that helped enhance our overall experience. Highly recommend this tour, our guide was fantastic!
This was a really wonderful walking tour, fun and knowledgeable guide and would highly recommend!
Great tour! Our tour guide Rai was wonderful, informative, and fun. He made sure all questions were answered, and added alot of infomation and insight into Japanese culture and life. All in all time well spent and worth the money.
We had a small group of two families and both of us had small children in prams. Keep in mind that there is a lot of walking.
Our guide was Ramon, who was friendly and informative He provided a different slant on the Japanese culture that you would have otherwise got from a larger more corporate tour company.
The tour features a temple and shrine as well as well as the backstreets of Gion. We would have never found these places by ourselves. Our guide had spent some time overseas so had a great take on western life compared to Japanese life and narrated the tour well and in a funny way.
After the tour concluded our guide walked us back to the bus stop to get back to Kyoto Station. We were lucky to catch the express bus and I understand the normal one would have taken a while. It’s too far for taxi so remember to grab the express bus. Well recommended and a highlight of our trip to Japan.
It was excellent:) the guide we had was really friendly and told us her plans for the tour before we set off checking if everyone was okay with where we were going etc.She organised everything for us i.e train travel around Kyoto. She was full of knowledge and never hurried us,
Highly recommend it!
