This was a great excursion. There are so many interesting places to see in Jerusalem that you want to see them all and this trip hit the high points. The views of the city are spectacular and the Church of the Sepulchre is a sight to behold (though quite crowded). Also you are able to go to the Western (or Wailing) Wall. Even as a Catholic I found that I was in awe of the experience there. To be amongst the people praying and celebrating initially gave me chills. There is more but I wasnt to get to Bethlehem. To those who do not know Bethlehem is in Palestine. This is also an experience since you have to go through the checkpoint to get there. Some people may find this intimidating but I found it to be a once in a lifetime experience. In Bethlehem we went to the Church of the Nativity where we saw the place designated as the birthplace of Jesus and the location of the mager (though obviously no manger is still present). This was overall one of the best day trips I have ever taken.
Organisation of pick up not so well ( been waiting for 1 hour) but the tour is good for thoses who have not lot of time to spend in jerusalem
What you will really see on this excursion is Wailing Wall, Holy Sepulchre and Bethlehem. The rest of the places of interest you are going to literally 'pass". As in "see from the distance". You will walk through the Old City and spent considerable time in shops. If you are fine with that - it's a good tour. The only reason I give 4 instead of 3 stars is the excellent efforts of the guides in Bethlehem.
Very educational excellent tour guide wishwe had some exposure to the Muslim Quarters which did Not occur
unfortunate in Jerusalem we weren't allow to visit the churches, because police closed the entrance
Bethlehen , we visited the place where Jesus was born, very interesting
Nice guide
Too much for one day. Recommend you must do Day Tour of Jerusalem and tag on Bethlehem with another short activity. Too much time spent at shops of their choice, obviously where they receive a kick back. Highly professional and gives you the opportunity to go back yourself after being familiarise with area. Alot of walking if those find walking challenging.
Guide was good but the trips with this supplier are disorganized and need improvement operationally. Once you get past all the craziness with switching cars, buses several times, late pick-ups in the mornings the trip is great. If it was just one switch to get in to Bethlehem but it was several and we didn't understand what was happening some of the time.
Our tour started out on the wrong foot but ended up positive. Our printed confirmation stated that the tour started at 7:15am and Jerusalem hotel pickup would commence "prior to this time". So we got up at 4am in Tel Aviv and paid a private taxi $100 to drive us to Jersualem so that we would be there in plenty of time. We were not contacted by the company to specify a time and my e-mails were unanswered. We waited at our Jerusalem hotel for 3 hours and we were finally picked up around 9am. We were later told that there was Tel Aviv pickup at 7.I asked to use the bathroom before we left and the driver actually tried to drive away. My husband had to literally jump in front of the bus to stop it. Also, on the tranfer bus, there was no communication about what was going on. This initial bus took us to a general meeting place where we hopped on another bus. We were then frustrated with the fact that this was a multilingual tour, not just English. Although our tour guide was great (Hyaa), she gave the tour in English, Spanish and Italian. This meant that the tour took 3 times as long so that she could explain in each language. It was very difficult to keep up with her flipping back and forth between the languages. There were about 30 people on the tour and it was cold/rainy (of course, outside the control of the tour) but all of this dampened our experience. In the end, we were able to see all that we wanted and we felt fulfilled. We also met some really cool people from around the world and had a fun evening with impromptu dinner plans.
Tour was not on time at all - lots of time wasted waiting for others to join - more than an hr. as a result in Bethlehem we could only go to the birth place of Jesus. A new group joined in Jerusalem after more than 1 hr. and no explanation was given why we were waiting! Not acceptable!Jerusalem was an interesting tour and unfortunately we had v.v. little time in Bethlehem. If new people are supposed to join in Jerusalem than either other arrangements shoud have been made or they should have been on time - about 15 mins. delay would have been acceptable.
The trip to Bethlehem was not the one detailed and was very rushed. There was no time given for lunch, or refreshments during a very long day.
The tour of Jerusalem was facinating and very enjoyable, but the two together with all the different changes of buses and guides were very confusing and not satisfactory.
