I had a great time. It was a little bit rushed and I would have like to been able to see more of parts of Masada, but the tour guide was knowledgeable, informative, and organized. It's probably good to bring a water bottle, as both the (desert) mountain and the (dead) sea are pretty dehydrating.
The downside experience we had was we were not picked up at our hotel because it was "far" (our hotel was Hotel Yehuda which was outside the city center). So we have to take a cab on our own expense to go to the meeting place/start of tour with the understanding that it will be reimbursed by the tour operator when we get back to the United States. On the upside of things, the tour guide (a gentleman who I think his name is Amir) is quite knowledgeable (up to the point of over saturating us with information) and has sense of humor. He seemed to be passionate with what he was doing (highly recommended). The view from Masada is quite magnificent, which I've never seen before. The dead sea experience (floating on the sea and slathering ourselves with mud) was great and unique.
The guide was excellent. The trip was well planed out, and the visit to Masada was amazing.
Excellent tour - well organised, good value and the tour guide (Amir) was outstanding! The only (slight) downside is the enforced stop-off at 'HAVA' to buy beauty products/Dead Sea oils.
Remember to take water with you for the trip (no refreshments provided).
This was probably the best trip I did during my stay in Jerusalem. The scenery was very barren but stunning at the same time. Masada has such a fascinating history and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. We had lunch in the restaurant there - nice reasonably priced food but very chaotic finding somewhere to sit to eat. Then it was down to the shores of the Dead Sea - very unsurreal floating in the water but a wonderful experience - excellent trip - well done
I went on two tours with this company. My tour to Masada and the Dead Sea was excellent. It was organized, plenty of breaks (clean bathrooms, snacks, etc.). The tour guide was great and this day tour was one of my favorite days in Jerusalem. I had plenty of time to look around, shop, and explore.
I also booked the Bethlehem tour as well. This one was not as organized. I was told an 8:30 a.m. pick-up and was finally picked up at 10:30 a.m. I sat in the hotel lobby for 2 hours. My hotel kept calling and they said 5 more minutes, 5 more minutes. I waited it out because I wanted to go to Bethlehem. After the tour started, it was better. The guide was great, stops were cool (Bethlehem is much more dirty than I imagined, though). However, I did not like the shopping option. It is one of those stores that is geared to take advantage of tourists. All the prices in US dollar. There were numerous other shops, but we could not go to those.
If they tell you 8:30 a.m. pick-up-I'd go down to the lobby at 8:45 a.m. and I bet you'll still wait a bit.
My group throughly enjoyed this tour! We were with a good mix of tourists who I thought enjoyed it as well.
I was initially rather hesitant about booking this tour as I was concerned there might be lots of shopping stops. In the event there was only one which was reasonably brief. Our guide was absolutely first rate , very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would not have gained nearly so much if I had gone on my own and the whole trip was very efficient and well organized. Our guide ended her commentary with a beautiful Hebrew song about the area which she sang wonderfully. A day to remember.
One of the best experiences of my life. The view from Massada is awesome, afterwards we ate in the restaurant of this arqueological park which the food was really good and clean.
I suggest to take an umbrela to protect from UV rays.
It was a great time. Our guide was knowledgable and the sites were amazing.
This was a very good tour. The transportation and guide were excellent. I would recommend this to anyone who has time to take a day trip from Jerusalem.
Great trip with a somewhat eccentric Israeli guide. Gave great input to the present situation in Israel as well as a glance backwards in the historic mirror to prove his opinions and facts. I can truly recommend this trip.
Wonderful guide. He gave us perspective and history. Could not stop the rain, however. Only problem was that we were not dropped off at our hotel - just a block away. Otherwise very good!
It was Fantastic my wife and I enjoyed everything apart from the Cruise people who we encountered on our outing to Mount Masada they were rude and obnoxious ... We all had to stick the crowds this particular day and our Tour Guide had a very tough job to Speak about Mesada as the other tour Guides kept speaking over him and interrupting him .. He was a very passionate man and Loved Masada and in kind we loved our historical insight and his kindness throughout the trip ... I would give our experience of this tour guide and Trip 10/10 .... Beautiful and Eye opening and we were lucky with our Driver / Guide . He was amazing thank you and What a Beautiful Country you live in .. Everything was just unforgettable in the most positive way Gearoid and Orla Griffin Ireland .
A great day out, saw everything we wanted to, loved floating in the Dead Sea!
Wonderful, wonderful guide!! Haya (sp?) was so informative! Great sense of humor! ! Loved the tour of Masada - perfect time of the year to be there. Swimming at the Dead Sea location was crowded and not as clean as other parts I've been too and would have liked. Beautiful day - education, fun and sun!
This tour was fantastic. Masada is amazing and the Dead Sea was also great fun. We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable and kept things interesting. Great value and definitely worth doing if you are in Jerusalem!
Great trip, perfect timing/pace/logistics. Overpriced though good meal at Masada - $37 for soup/salad/chick w rice and a cake n coffee. I was fortunate to be in JLM as for Tel Aviv group that day trip turned at least 3 hrs longer with driving/waiting for uniting both groups time. Due to unusual low tourist flow on Passover we did not have to wait for meals/cable cars. Dead sea stop is great, enough time to soak in water and silky black mud full body mask. Overall we were given 1.5 hr there, minus changing/walking to beach time it was at least an hour to enjoy the wonders of Dead Sea. Stop at famous Ahava Dead Sea product factory/store was only 30 min, on the way to Massada. TOO short to wrap your mind on what to choose and look through products. No time for store presentation. Thank God, there were enough assistance to help you w choices. But haste was stressful. Guide Menashem was very knowledgable and brought additional illustrative materials for Massada story. One could tell he really cares personally about the Israeli history and Massada in particularly. Trip is VERY worth of money value and time.
This was the best tour I have ever been on. Apart from what we experienced, which was amazing, the tour guide was awesome! He was funny, knowledgable and very engaging. He didn't just regurgitate information but imparted knowledge and insights that you will remember. 110% recommend this tour and hopefully the tour guide - can't remember his real name but he said call him Isaac. Thank you!
